For the first few weeks, I had no signups. After a few, I had one. I opened my listwire account today, and lo and behold, I have a new subscriber! I hope to get to 500 members on my forum and on my mailing list.

nice, but what kind of traffic you send to your squeeze page? I guess it's free, not paid, right?

Giving some good freebies will be a kickstart for list building, but soon, you need to find a way to get buyers in to your list.

Congratulations vivo, the first one is always the hardest. Keep driving more traffic to your squeeze page and eventually you'll hit your 500 mark.

What I do to help my squeeze page convert better is copy the format of the top guys in my niche and just replace the text with my own.

Great work! It's so exciting getting your first few subscribers - you see that in spite of what people may think about you that it is a reality that you can get people to join your list.

    Keep pressing forward!

      Hey vivo,

I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but optimism is only good
      when it's not poisonous.

For the first few weeks, I had no signups. After a few, I had one. I opened my listwire account today, and lo and behold, I have a new subscriber! I hope to get to 500 members on my forum and on my mailing list.
After a few weeks of zero signups, you get 1 signup - that
shows a pretty slow rate of signups. If you want to get your
biz up, you need to pick up the pace of acquisition.

There's no confirmation that you will keep up at that rate or
even pick up in the future.

I suggest the following things immediately:

--- Set up tracking/analytics and find out where that prospect
is opting in from. Where did he/she come from? A particular
site? What is causing it? Will it be there for long?

--- Try and replicate that effect OR...

--- Switch to a more efficient method

On the other hand, congrats to your 1st sub. It feels good and
all, but remember that an opt-in is not a sale yet. Make your
      next milestone a sale.

      Sales = money.

That's where your focus needs to be. If you're not monetizing
or optimizing your conversion rates/metrics... Then you need to
      start working on them asap.

      Hope that helped.

It was on my own site (which has other features as well), and it just got indexed, and I just sent out a shoutout message to my peeps on facebook telling them about it. Actually, the first person signed up a few weeks ago. But anyways, I am looking to increase traffic to my site, so my conversions will get better over time. On a positive note though, I did not need to give away any freebies (besides tips), and so it is positive that they are not freebie hounds. So while I am growing at a slower rate, it is more of a surefire way than to just give away freebies.

I'd recommend a better autoresponder if you can afford. Listwire will promote their stuffs to your list so personally, I don't think it's a good choice. Mailchimp has free option up to 2.5k subs, getresponse free for the first month... Those are better choices.

That's total crap... List Wire does NOT promote anything to client's lists.

      Period, end of story.

Anyone who thinks this hasn't done their research, and they're just spouting the old "you get what you pay for" crap that's just not true anymore...

Do you use WordPress? It's free... How about FaceBook? Free again... YouTube? Yup, that's free too...

      It's not the 90's anymore.

Source - I own List Wire.

I might eventually switch to my host on my website, since it is free, and I get my own domain. Thanks .

And honestly, I am kind of a broke college student, so I am trying to watch my ps and qs. I was actually kind of worried about wasting money on my domain at first, but so far, it is panning out.
