Author Rights for Ebook/Courses - Royalty Payments vs. Buyout

I want to work with an author/expert/content creator based on a flat fee buyout
but i´m not sure if this legal/ a contract would be legally binding.

Alot of Internet Marketers outsource their content creation or use
interview material as content but so far I have never seen
any advice on the legalities /conformity to copyright or other laws.

Working on a royalty payment basis would mean alot of adminstrative hassle
for my young business and i´d rather avoid it if possible.

Just hire with a work for hire contract stipulating that you are the copyright holder after payment is received for the product. It's done all the time.

I write for clients all the time who then take full ownership of the work. I don't even use a contract. I simply file it away and never see it again.

Many writers will write under those terms. You just have to get all those details straight when hiring. I never needed the contract for that. Just need to state the project that it's work for hire.

Most ghostwriters work under those terms. Some of my clients ask me to sign a contract and others are happy with an email or a line on the invoice that says, "All rights pass to the purchaser when final payment is made."

thank you for all the great answers. I´m in the EU, specifically germany
where from what i was told copyright laws are much different than the states
(or even the EU) so i still need to investigate the exact wording for the contract.

what about interview products where experts are interviewed.
how can resell rights for these be contractually be agreed upon?

For every freelance writing assignment I ever took the terms of the deal were spelled out in email or Skype. That's your contract.

with a contract of course. Write a contract and if you both agree, you both sign it.
