Forums and Pinterest Pins - Did anybody test it before

I came across some forum that has "Pin" option on each post. It seems like an interesting idea of promoting some posts, images and cross-promotion for your messages, forums etc... Does somebody know how effective this idea is. I am really intrigued by possibilities and want to know if somebody had experience/ tested it before. What do you think?

  • That would be a little tough as pinterest requires a pic to be present to post to pinterest. Most forum threads have no pics
  • I just came across some Forum that actually had 'pin' option attached to every single post in the thread. You can check the forum by yourself and see what I mean.

    I tried to pin something with this option and it is actually pinning with 'avatar' of the user chosen as 'picture' for 'pin'.

    I understand that if there is going too many posts like this, Pinterest is going to block/ limit it somehow, but still.... it is kind of interesting and gives me some ideas...
