Here's What Entertainer Dolly Parton Can Teach Us About IM and Business Success...

A couple weeks ago I listened to an interview country music star Dolly Parton gave to NPR (National Public Radio). This was in Neal Conan's Talk of The Nation program.

This morning I looked at NPR's website and realized there is a transcript of the show, and a short article about Parton. The article talks about her new book in which she reveals what it takes to become really successful at whatever business you want.

Parton, in talking about believing in herself says, "I've never lost my faith, and I never lost momentum," she says. "I never got off-track. I never turned loose from my dream. And I'm still onto it tight as I can."

I immediately realized her quote applies to all people who wish to be successful at whatever they do... be it IM, local business, basket weaving, or dog training.

      Parton does more than market herself.

      I have never ONCE heard her complain about fans or people she works with - I have never heard her whine about lack of privacy or agents or anything else.

      She's a good marketer - but she's also a hard worker who puts in the hours and has an unfailingly positive attitude.

      Marketing alone isn't always enough - it's part of the package with her.

    Definitely a good business role model. I did a few concerts with her sister Stella several years ago, a nice lady in her own right. The whole family continues to give back to the community in both time and money. My son loves the books he gets through Dolly's Imagination Library. If it's available in your area, you should really sign up your kids or grandkids for it.
