Why are you giving me your Amazing product for free!!

I get asked this a lot...

So is it because:

-I'm feeling generous and want to give back? Lol.

-I'm tired of all the crap going around and I really want to help you.

-This is a gift for becoming a subscriber...but why do you want me as a subscriber?

Basically non of the above sounds convincing or the real reason & people know it.

In the non IM market people don't know about Listbuilding or email marketing,

So what do you usually tell em?

Thanks a bunch.

In all the years I've been at this and the niches I've been a part of, I think I've only received this question a handful of times.

I just tell them the truth: I'm giving them useful information in exchange for their contact information. If the the information I provide them provides value to them, then I hope they continue to receive information from me and are receptive to some of my offers.

I also let them know if they don't find value in my content then they can opt-out at any time.

Usually that takes care of that question. There's no need to get into list-building or any of it's nuances.

It is great that others ask you that question! What a compliment!

People don't really think about it too much. Of course, if you make your offer sound like the most amazing thing in the world e.g. "Learn how to make 123012312321.321321$ in 2 hours!! for free!" people will be like "eh?". But if you offer a simple helpful product for free people won't mind signing up.

This is your fault. They shouldn't have to ask you this
question because you should answer the question
already in your 'give away' copy. In marketing, you
always tell them why you are making such a great
deal so you not only have to justify a high price,
but you also have to justify an unusually low price
    as well.

So tell them, it's your birthday, your doing a trial ... but
    give them a REASON WHY.

I tell them it's because I'm going nuts and could come to my senses at any moment, so they better act fast.

      Seems to work.

      Should I be worried?

Raydal gives an important piece of information here... "give them a REASON WHY"...

    WHY trust you...
    WHY buy from you...
    WHY are you doing this...

You basically have to qualify your audience with your copy. So, if they're still not convinced - then they're just not qualified for your offer

Great tip Ray. Although I probably would have gone with the ubiquitous "It's NOT your fault" LOL!

You give them free content to qualify yourself as an expert (or so-called expert :-))... This way you're known as the go to source in your particular niche.

The only free stuff I give away is the bonus you get after buying. I never had to explain a bonus.

Well, I totally missed it! Can't let my wife see this
because I'm always telling her how slow she is on
picking up on a joke, (excluding me).

On a completely unrelated note, can we have your wife's eMail address?
