Is the light attractin em?

Howdy folks... I was just sittin here thinkin bout somethin. I was thinkin bout somethin someone told me bout ole Dookie Walker and it gots me to thinkin about this here Warrior Forum.

Seems Dookie's wife, Guano (she was Hispanic you see), went into labor right in the middle of the dadburn night. Dookie sent his son, Poo (that was his son's nickname cause he was fond of that Disney bear), to fetch the doctor and get him back there lickety split.

The Walkers did not have no electricity so Dookie had to hold up the lantern so the doctor could see what he was doin. After a while, out pops this here baby girl and Dookie set the lantern down to hold her. Ole Doc Ordure (he was French) hollered at Dookie and said, "Hold on a minute, Dookie. It looks like another one is on the way! Hold that lantern up higher!" Dookie held the lantern up higher and, sure enuff, out pops another little un!

Dookie was prouder than a peacock and he was reachin for that baby when he hears the doctor say, "Dookie, you ain't gonna believe this but here comes another one! Hold up that lantern again!"

Well, ole Dookie was a might perplexed as he watched another little baby come into this world. Dookie thought about it for a minute, scratched his chin and said, "Say Doc, you think it might be the light that is attractin em?"

Well, I gots to wonderin what would happen if the Head Hog at the Trough of the WF made a rule where there could be no signatures in folks posts? How many folks would still post? Would the discussions be more relevant if people couldn't advertise their wares in the signature? Would a bear freeze his butt if he didn't have no fur? (I was just seein if you was payin attention on that last one)

Now most of you folks is good, hard workin folks and I don't begrudge you a little advertisin but I have read some mighty peculiar posts that didn't make a lick of sense in the discussion other than they had a signature that advertised just what the original poster was asking about!

Personally, ole Thad would love to see the WF do away with signatures. It would level the playin field and folks what like to spam others would just go away.

Personally Allen, I don't think it is the light that is attractin em... I think it is the nearly one million folks who are members here that is mighty attractive to them!

good question, but I disagree. There are a lot of folks giving great advice on here, but the money they make from signature traffic helps keep them motivated to keep posting here. Of course you're going to have people making valueless posts as well, but seems that just comes with the territory.

Alice, I shore hear where you are comin from but I want to make another point iffin I might!

What would be happenin to lots of folks if the Warrior Forum was to go away? The WF has created a whole economy unto itself out there and lots of folks would be incomeless if there was no WF because this is where they make all their dinero!

Now I doubt that the WF will go away any time soon but it shore does create a security blanket mentality to lots of folks out there. There is a whole dadburn economy on just the WSO part of the WF alone. That is the only money some folks make!

There is a big ole world out there that is almost as large as the WF and folks need to spend some time out there. It is sorta like the mama bird pushing the baby bird out of the nest.

I ain't givin' up my siggie...oh wait, I don't have one here. Never mind.

Might could work a deal - where only folks who invested here (members who paid a registration fee or joined the War Room) get to do sigs.

Thad ya'll let me down on this one. This has been discussed more times than your old old hound has fleas on its back.

And I suspect your going to release the same barrage of "for and against" replies that have been stated before.

Just caus Thad cain't write don't mean other folks ain't a bit smarter and no how to writ. However, I do agree with the one liner and jibber jobber replies that make no sense to just get their sig in front of other on a marketing forum.

At least my jibber jobber reply has more than a 1 liner to get my signture out there.

I would pay to have a sig file here on the forum. I would pay, because it would be a good investment. (When I come out of retirement, that is!)

I have no sig file now cause I don't want any more babies. Or chickens, or hawgs, for that matter. Or for whatever it is I'm selling, which at the moment is nothing.

Of course, that's not to say, I'd marry ya in a minit Thad!!! Being such that I'm a whole lot fonder of Hoggs, than Hawgs, that is!

I won't pretend for a moment I do not enjoy the benefits of the sig file here. It helps me build a list as well as engage with a lot of WF list members on a more personal level. Would I quit The WF if the resource was taken away?

    No.

Would I participate as much. Probably more. Why? ...

Because the same results could still be accomplished. It would just take a different approach. One might even be surprised at the elevated confirmation and open rates if we were to find it a must to step our content up a notch and utilize the vast array of resources here that has nothing to do with a click on a sig link.

Leads that are developed by the reader needing to follow a content trail should be of a lot higher quality. Your content in it's self could easily start the funneling process well before the reader was ever introduced to an AR form.

In the 14 or so years I have enjoyed email marketing, the main thing I have learned is the quality and not as much the quantity of leads determine the success of your business.

While I am not endorsing the change, I would understand why it came about as well as adapt my marketing to match the change.

Well, now, that's good to know, Thaddaeus, cause my door don't swing the other way neither.

Ya, I'm a woman. Gettin' on a bit - I must warn you Thad. (Before you accept my proposal that is.) But never forget the saying - "Where there's snow on the roof, there's fire in the furnace.") Just to warn you ahead of time, of course...

Well, I heard that the fire in the furnace would be meltin the snow on the roof! What do I mean by that? Heck, I don't have any earthly idea but it sounded good!

Because the same results could still be accomplished. It would just take a different approach.
Words of wisdom right there! Folks, I ain't sayin we ought to get rid of siggies. It WOULD cut down on some of the stupid remarks some people make in here but I DO want you to be understandin one thang...

LEARN TO MAKE MONEY IN PLACES OTHER THAN THE WF!

Heck, you can still come in here and make some money. You can still list WSOs. The thing you need to understand is that there is a big ole world out there that is just waiting to be marketed to. There are fantastic niches that don't have nothin to do with interneet marketeering. In fact, you would probably make MORE money in those other niches.

I LOVE the WF and I have shore nuff been around here for a long, long time but sometimes I am thinkin that the WF is like a little lake where there are a bunch of fishies. They is all feedin off each other and I worry that someday there may not be many fishies left. Then what?

Once you figure out that there is a big ole ocean out there that you can swim in you might find the swimming a whole lot better!

I am so wound up bout this that I wrote a little poem for each and ever one of ya...

Swim little fishie, out to sea
      and discover new horizons
swim little fishie, go be free
and your income will be risin
you will swim and swim all over the place
and oh what a beautiful site
all over the water you will race
till ole Thad shows up with his phone and dynamite!

That there poem brought a tear to my eyegballs so I gots to go now <sniff> <sniff>

People abusing the Sig and the good folks need to pay for the ratbags ? and that would not even stop it as the good people would go without and the ratbags would fork out for the 40$ conair ticket to crapsville.

Yesterday a new wso had 9 yes 9 people all of different standing join dates but all with 0 posts to their name all line up and post in the wso how wonderful this shiny new toy was and that yes, every player was indeedy going to win a prize.

What are the odds that 9 random people who have been here over a period of time and never made posts all of sudden appear out of the black hole and magically within hours all post how wonderful the new Saviour is.

People don't need Sig's to peddle crap here all they need is fiverr dot com and a few shackles and by the blessed almighty we will have salvation and all ye that follow shall be saved from peril and doom.

"If it smells like bull dung it probably is", should stamped on peoples passport to the forum on entry.

The furnace being located just a little lower on our anatomy. (I hate it when I have to spell these things out for you, especially in a public forum.)
