Newbie with bright money making idea...seeking advice

I have a great new product idea with desperate buyer potential.
It is easy to manufacture with excellent mark-up value.

Presently i am exploring marketing strategies....
but feel overwhelmed with the new concepts here.
Which seem to be mainly oriented to IM of information...
am I in the right place for my needs?

Or should i be looking at a company that can
streamline and maximize my on line presence???

any suggestions?

thank-you Kindly
Bruce

    my thread gets deleted again!!!

Its exasperating not knowing why : (

Can I ask again...i have a great product that will sell itself...
I wish to make a wesite and wonder how to reach my target users.

Should i skip this huge learning curve of IM and go with an outfit that can
do all this sort of work more effectively (?) so i can focus on my main goals.

How do written articles get out there where my targets can find them.

I must apologize to previous responders...
as it was nice to recieve some feedback,
just so that i know i do exist here.

    thanks again...

    HI,

If this is a physical product in high demand, you might consider finding a manufacturer and selling a licence to produce and sell your product.

If it is a truly unique product you should look at patenting it. Once a patent is applied for you have significant protection against others copying your idea and protecting the licence value.

There are costs involved but if your product is sound and the potential is as high as you suggest, venture capital could be obtained (be careful where you apply) to cover initial costs.

If you put your product on the internet without any protection it will be copied as a matter of course by others who can see the potential although a good affiliate programme might delay this.

You just discovered the difference between reality and the cyber world.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

Yes... patent pending status (to start) is crucial.
Then a website presence and "SEO" (yes I am learning)...
to get a real world sense of its potential.

If it is as good as it feels...(i can't believe no one thought of this)
then I will have the resources to go more deeply into the
      marketing/production/sales optimization process.

Well I am still very much unsure about all this...
maybe to test the market with minimal exposure first.
Before opeing up to greater forces of mass potential.

My original question was whether i should attempt it on my own
or to go with a company that could streamline the whole
web design, IM thing for me

I think a grassroots approach will be best to maintain a sense of understanding and thus control.

Thank-you very much for your reply!

      cheers..

If you have never marketed online before there can be an enormous learning curve, and if you have the resources behind you then I say yes - you should outsource to have a site built and someone in SEO to help you with some kind of strategy.

There are people who do that on this forum, you can search elance as well, or try locally where ever you are.

Different packages cost different amounts. It will all depend on the type of site you decide to have built and just how much of the marketing you want done for you after the fact.

Once you get a site up you will have a couple of options. While it is more cost effective to go for organic results - if your product is "that cool" you will be able to make a KILLING using adwords advertising - if the word in the product name is original and what ever it is you are doing kicks off.

Eventually, the market will pick up and others bidding on your word will cause the price of it to rise - but in the beginning you would be wise to plan for advertising of this kind.

Be sure to consider beyond article marketing and perhaps a company blog. Like some video promotion for instance will go far in viral marketing.

        Good luck to you.

I suggest to hire someone who can work with You on this project.

It is not the best way to "quickly learn IM" however if You want to get an insight into it, and establish the basics, then the Insider Secrets course from the Internet Marketing Center is a really good choice! It is a course which started so many famous online marketers, like Frank Kern.

    Hope that helps!

Wouldn't even try to manufacture it yourself. If it's truly killer, file for a patent and then license it out. You make less but you stress a lot less too.

Check out Dragon's Den episodes at CBC.ca - Canadian News Sports Entertainment Kids Docs Radio TV and you'll see that concept being reiterated over and over again to new entrepreneurs who have the next big thing and are contemplating manufacturing.

    Hope this helps.

The last suggestion was definitely right, get someone to help you out and hold you hand until you are able to set up. There are lots of people who do this online. You can get a freelancer to help you out while you are learning on your own, lessens the hassle of you losing your money and somehow increases your success rate..

If there's none, you wouldn't want to take the risk.
