Going to be homeless soon

I live in a very small town without an abundance of jobs which makes it extremely hard to make a living, and ALOT of people are unemployed due to the scarce number of opportunities. I can't afford to move and I have virtually no family and even the ones I do have don't acknowledge me.. I can't afford to make payments at the moment; the only money I do have, I have spent on the "basic" Warrior Forum membership in hopes of guidance or tips. I currently have 7.25 dollars available to possibly help generate even more money. I have tried affiliate marketing with 70 dollars earned in the first week but for the next three weeks I literally obtained 0 through it even though I worked very hard; the signups simply weren't converting to paid memberships. I then also tried my hand at pay-per-download and made 5 dollars in a week with the current method I use. This is simply not enough and I have no idea where to turn. I need to make 400 dollars on top of what little I can scrape together to pay this months bills. I have literally attempted many methods which haven't worked out although I followed them to the T and found many to be outdated which was highly frustrating, but I still have hope. Basically, I need to know a way to make 400 dollars in 2 weeks. I am an unbelievably hard worker and possess an okay knowledge of Internet marketing. If someone could give a guy that's hard up a helping hand, in way of tips or guidance on methods that could accomplish 400 dollars in this time frame with virtually no investment, or guidance on how to increase income in adult affiliate marketing, it would be HIGHLY appreciated.

Thanks for your time guys, I look forward to hopefully being a part of this forum for a very long time!

I am sorry for your troubles. I always tell people they should not start an online business unless they have the funds to do so. If you are that hard up for money surely there is something in your town that you can do, or maybe a few towns over. I live close to a big city but live in a small town. Most people here drive to the city to work each day because there are not many jobs in my actual town to be had right now. I feel for you and wish I had a magical way that you could make some great money really fast. The truth is online marketing takes time, money, and very hard work. Do you have things that you could maybe sell on ebay or something? Have a yard sale, do whatever it takes to get some money.

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles. Personally, if I was in your situation I would look at offering some kind of service to generate some quick cash, then use use the experience to create an info product that shows other people how to perform that service, and sell it as a WSO.

What skills do you have? Could you turn them into a fiverr.com gig? These don't pay a lot, but there are people on this forum who do quite nicely out of them. You get $4 after fiverr take their cut, but if you break it down you'll need 100 which equates to 50 per week or 10 per day if you work 5 days a week. Something like that is do-able if you're offering a simple service.

Also have a look at the Wanted - Members Looking To Hire You section of the forum, you can always find something there.

You say you're in a small town, but try looking at the craigslist for your nearest big city for "work from home" type jobs as you might find something you can do right away.

    Good luck.

There are success stories of people moving to a new town and arriving with nothing but the clothes they are wearing and totally reinventing themselves. There is a huge of abundance of jobs in North Dakota right now with the oil shale mining. Might be a shitty job, but pays well.

There is an old saying: If you keep doing what you are doing, you'll keep having what you have

In your case, it sounds like you need change, and you have LOTS of motivation to change. Now you need to focus that motivation and be willing to make some decisions in your life that involve change.

Be well aware there are some WONDERFUL people in this world that will help you, but you need to position yourself to go out and find them, and let them know you are ready to give passion to their effort. Based on what you are saying, moving should be something to consider.

    Hey CHPA!

Sorry to hear you're on such a tight spot. I really hope I can give you something that could get you the money you need in 2 weeks. If you have skills, like say writing, designing, drawing or anything on those line, you can try out online job boards (odesk, elance etc). But of course, getting clients are a pain specially when you are just starting out on those websites, and there is a clearing time for your funds. If you can think of something clever to do, you can try out fiverr. I see people there that offers to write your message on their lips, or dance wearing doughnut costumes and what not...well, they get sales. If you can be lucky, or maybe think of an original gig that can catch the moderator's attention and get you on to the first page you could do well. Maybe you can even put your situation on your gig description and encourage people to help you out. There's a clearing period of 15 days though so it's not going to slide through your time limit. Of course earning online takes time and most . As you said you work really hard, and if you keep working hard it is just a matter of time for you to get some traction going. But since you need the money urgent, I think right now is a good time to go see old friends and relatives. Best of luck.

Take massive action now, while you still have your own place. I'm already homeless. Been sleeping in my truck in the rest area on the parkway. I work part time, so I've had enough money for food and gas (which I've had to use a lot of due to running the heat). If I'm not working, I'm in the library doing research for my info product. Or I'm at a Dunkin Donuts (where I am right now), writing original material for it.

But it sucks ballz. It's so damn cold in this truck at night, and I wake up 2 to 3 times and have to run the heat full-blast for 15 minutes. I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do on a 15 degree night.

Just don't lose your place, whatever you do. I left mine in Florida and moved in with a friend up here for work. I was at their mercy, and they knew it. I never signed a rental agreement, and they s*** on me and threw me out. Keep your place. It's YOURS. Do anything and everything to keep it.

The biggest mistake I made was abandoning a nice apartment and moving up here with a "I'll make it work" attitude, and renting a room in someone else's house. If I could go back, I'd stay until the sheriff came to kick me out. I'd fight, claw, gnaw and do whatever it took to keep the place. I'd attend court dates and contact charitable organizations. Because once you are out, you find out quick that you now have new expenses. Gas at the tune of 100 a week or more. Car repairs. Eating out three times a day. What do you do if the car breaks down? How the hell do I transition from here back into an apartment without deposit/1st month?

It's like falling into a sinkhole so deep that you can't even spot the mouth.

Fiverr.com would be a good start. If you really are in the position you say you are, you can do all kinds of crap on fiverr that people will pay for. Im sure you can come up with something.

Failing that, ebay+craigslist are your friend.

    Good luck

Sell of any items that you don't need, for its REALLY hard to see instant success with internet marketing.

Barely anyone makes 400$ in the first few weeks, but its not impossible.

Try to do any crap jobs you can find like mowing lawns or collecting recycle.

They may sound low, but if you have a computer and internet, you must have things to sell to thirft stores or on craigslist.

For fast cash.. there really are not many oportunities in Internet Marketing.

We are all looking for cash that will still be made 10 years from now.

    Good luck!

Hey I was wondering if I could get in on this. I need about $250 to pay my office rent by Jan. 1, and for the last 2 months I took what I learned from my previous failures and created a new self-help product based on a meditation strategy that I use. It's an 4-week audio course that comes with templates. I will be finished with creating the product today, but the only problem is I'm not sure how I can market it. I've started writing copy for it, but my copywriting skills are only mediocre. I can show you what I got though if you're interested, and maybe we can help each other out to pay the bills. Thanks.

Okay you need $400 bucks in two weeks and you have a ton of motivation.

What you need to do is hit youtube hard with two or 3 videos if you have a camera.

These videos should be promoting clickbank products in two desperate niches like weight loss or make money.

Start your research on thing you would like to emphasize and things you think would change people's life.

Then make a down to earth scrip on the niche and solve someone problem also tell them about what the product can do for them.

Have the affiliate link in the description and promote the video everywhere.

Look desperate times call for desperate measures and you sound like you're up to the challenge.

Youtube is the quickest way to make that type of money so don't be scared of the camera bro

I've been where you are. Relying on the Warrior Forum for freelancing I've found is what nearly caused that for me.

It's just so amazing to me that people go days/weeks without replying/responding or even getting back to their perspective clients. I had to do other things and work on a business or else I wouldn't own a computer because I would have sold it.

Everyone always bragged about how easy it was to earn a living freelancing on the Warrior Forum, well I maybe hear back from 1-2 people a day out of the 30 clients I currently have on my list. It takes them forever to respond to e-mails or inquiries which is absolutely ridiculous when you have work that needs done.

There's also a ton of people on here that won't pay a measly $15 per article because people are still under the assumption that you can run a top notch online business with cheap/monkey labor.

To sustain a livable income you aren't going to find a "method" and for the mother of God, stay away from the WSO section unless you want to spend all your money on another rehashed garbage infoproduct. Seriously, I saw one recently that had 80 pages of awesome reviews and out of sheer curiosity, I had to see what it was about. It simply stated "Go to this forum, sell a product and post in the forum to get traffic to it."

    Lol seriously?

You might want to start (or think about starting) a website or blog devoted to something you're passionate about and building it up while freelancing for here or perhaps keep trying to find a 9-5 job in your home town. I know how it feels and it sucks, I've personally been there and lived like that for a little while at one point in my life.

My only advice I can truly give you, is don't put all your eggs into the Warrior Forum, because while you might be hardworking, online 24/7 and constantly ready to deliver work, the majority of the people I meet take forever.

Hell, I had a guy who had $1,500 worth of articles who said the client paid him and he was awaiting the payment to clear then he would send them over my way. That was one a month ago and he hasn't logged onto Skype. I also have got previous work from him before so this wasn't a first time thing. I figured, maybe he got hurt, left or who knows but come to find out, he's been logging on the Warrior Forum. I'm not going to name drop but that's absolutely ridiculous. That sums up a lot of the people you'll meet.

I'd be running a mile from a 'boot camp' like this one is offering. CHPA, might I suggest that you will need to find ways to inspire and encourage your own online efforts if you are to truly succeed in this arena. IMO, you have to generate the drive to earn from within, all the advice, encouragement and 'boots' from others will have absolutely no value at all unless you develop an unshakeable self-belief in your own abilities. Nobody can give that to you but you! Good luck.

Wow you missed the point totally and told someone to reject an offer from a highly respected member of this community We all needed to learn and have an unbending belief in ourselves. To straight up say no to someone offering to help for free when you are desperate:confused:. I am helping 2 people myself right now( I don't sell them any products). I love how so many people are offering help and advice. This makes me glad I joined this forum. I can't really offer any advice in terms of making money, as I am new to this but I can offer advice on saving money and making it go further.

Check your utilities on a price comparison site, are you getting the cheapest deal's?

What about your home and car insurance, can you reduce them?

Food banks can be a lifesaver, quite literally. Don't be afraid to ask.

Some charities will help if you are in arrears with utility bills. Just do a search.

Can you move to a smaller, cheaper home?

        Go vegetarian, meat is expensive.

Buy staples i.e beans, pasta, rice, soup and add veg for cheap, healthy meals.

I really hope things pick up for you.

Do you have a car? What skills, tools and assets do you have?

The problem with making money online using affiliate programs is the delay in getting the cash actually in your hands. You need to come up with ways to make money NOW.

And the best way to make money is to do things other people don't want to do. If you have a car you can start a dog poo removal service, paint addresses on curbs, insulate hot water heaters and tons more. Be creative and use Craigslist, it's free, posting anything and everything you can think of to earn some cash.

Baby sitting? Pet sitting? Dog walking? House sitting? Yard work? Window washing? Sweeping parking lots? Cleaning and organizing garages? Hang out at storage auctions and help people load what they just bought? It's all just a matter of marketing yourself.

If you can write well, apply to be a Textbroker writer. They pay every week now and you can find plenty of writing assignments available right now. It's not high paying per article piece, but you can work really hard and make that money you need if you grind it out.

To David... I don't offer a bootcamp fyi. Over the several years I've been on this forum, I've taken on a few Warriors at a time looking for a leg up, some guidance and assistance. Never have I asked for one single cent from anyone when I make this offer.

I also have a few lovely emails from past 'students' thanking me for my straight talking advice.

One of my recent students who I took on in 2011, he made his first real start in business in February of this year. Since then he's made over $80,000, in fact, he's now set to be turning over in excess of $100,000 in his first 12 months. See the Copywriting Forum for the story.

I'd like to see you David put in the energy needed to help take a Warrior in need up to this level this swiftly before you start advocating others to 'run a mile' from this free no catches offer of mine.

I make this offer from time to time simply because it's something I enjoy doing for others, it's my way of paying the help forwards which I too received from this forum several years ago.

Nice! And you're spot on too. It's not just about the money.

A few Warriors here know I'm too homeless by choice. I live in the back of an old van touring the country. Solar panels on the roof for all of my electrical needs, connected to the Internet via a 12GB dongle.

It's pretty basic inside, homely certainly, especially when the incense and candles are burning during the evenings with my log burner well alight for a bit of winter warmth.

Quite often, I'll be popped up on top of the cliffs somewhere in the most extraordinarily beautiful scenery, the morning sun streaming in, good music playing - it's my almost perfect lifestyle.

One doesn't need (at least for me) a whole lot of money to get everything out of life I want. What other people want out of life is up to them and if I can help them to realize their dream then it is indeed an honor for me to help them achieve it, whatever it is they want to do.

If I do move up in the world slightly myself, soon it'll be a similar lifestyle, albeit I'll be taking to the water in a narrowboat or buying myself a small plot of land in Portugal, up in the mountains, to run a smallholding complete with writers workshops in Mongolian yurts http://goo.gl/X7gOk I'll build on site.

Here you go, a British narrowboat...

        Hey David,

I just built a Yurt on some land I own and love it. It has power provided by a solar system. For water, I draw it from a well (here Zthe water table is only ~30 feet deep so it was practical) and I will get Internet either from 4G or satellite, both of which I can get up there.

I will soon build 6 garden plots to grow food, a green house and 1 more smaller yurt... for my art and music studio and an out house.

Oh and I will build stoves out of oil drums for heat.

Currently I live in a larger "traditional" home but when's compound is complete, I wanna go off grid for awhile.

          Ben,

Besides solar, one way to get hot water is to coil the piping around your heat source.

Interesting stuff you're doing there with your yurt Ben. Eugene eh? Know it well, passed through the area many times, a beautiful part of the world.

Good to see someone else here into building yurts, hopefully come year end I'll be in one too down in Portugal, somewhere up in the hills. Going down on a land buying trip a little later this year.

            Coaching update?...

Chris is coming along exceptionally well btw. Almost 100 emails have now been exchanged between the pair of us.

First things first, I hooked him up with many of my contacts in the copywriting business to give him some short term cash flow. Providing written content (not copywriting) he excelled in this area and one or two clients I know have been very pleased with his work.

We very quickly progressed into identifying his top niche. Next under my encouragement and guidance he put his first information product together which I have to say is excellent. All about healthy eating and sports nutrition which is obviously his niche, his area of excellence.

The product now completed ready for market, this past week I've been showing him the ropes how to write a compelling sales letter to promote his new product. This too has now been completed and is just about ready to go.

Chris is an absolute natural and a real pleasure to work with. Asks the right questions, isn't silly about it, loves learning this stuff and immediately acts on the advice given to him - I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever he will go far in this business.

Already without any shadow of doubt at all, he's head and shoulders beyond where a lot of other newbies are at. Since he's only been doing this a few weeks at most, he's done exceptionally well to get to where he's at. I couldn't have hoped to take on a better 'student'.

            10/10 for effort.

Quite honestly the best thing you can do for yourself is hit the pavement and go out there and find a means of income. If your town does not work then venture out to the next town or the next state.

IM is just like any other business in the real world. Would you really want to start a business with no money while you are in urgent need of rent and food money?

It takes a long time to build a real IM business, unless you have a solid foundation already, and money or a big list does wonders. Yet if you have nothing, with no solid experience or anything alike... why take that chance with your life? Just do what you have to do to make money and then come back and understand how a business needs to be built. All the best.

I agree.. This is the time when I think it's safe to say "give up to keep going". I got evicted a while back and was so worried about it that I couldn't really focus on my online business..

Everything I did was out of desperation; not well thought out at all..

eventually they put that letter on the door and I thought "finally it's over"...

At that time, I knew my apartment run was over and it was time for the next chapter in my life....

Failure is just steps you have to take to be successful; at anything; not just making money online.

Luckily for me, when I got evicted, I was already making money online; just not enough to pay my rent; or I could have paid my rent but I would have been completely broke...

You need to find income. Like I said; it's ok to give up to keep going. If you need somewhere to stay, go on Craigslist and post an ad saying you are about to be homeless and you just need a place to stay. I ended up staying with a friend but I checked my email sometime later and saw that like 4 or 5 caring people had reached out to me to give me a place to stay..

Don't worry about material possessions. You'll get them back. This will just be a story for you look back on and laugh at one day.... trust me...

Also, get a audio player and listen to positive audio EVERYDAY... Forget music.. You need to brainwash you mind to be ready for anything the world is going to throw at you...

This is one of the videos I watch on teh regular that got me through my tough times...

      Hi CHPA,

Welcome to Warrior Forum, one of the best places in the world for entrepreneurial spirits to get the guidance and help they need.

Mark Andrews made you a very kind offer... it's one I'd recommend talking to him in more depth about.

I'll offer you some alternate advice as well.

I've been doing online marketing since 2004 and one of the quickest routes I've seen a lot of people use to get an income going online quickly. That route is to offer a professional service.

It can be doing tasks through sites like Fiverr or Elance that people need done.

It can offering services like audio/video editing, article writing, video submission, script installation, help desk coverage, and countless others. If you take a few minutes to browse the Warriors For Hire and Wanted - Members Looking To Hire You, you can compile a good size list of ideas on professional services that you may be able to offer right away. Initially stick with services that you already know how to do. Further down the road, you can always move into high-paying services like programming, provided that you have learned how to do it at professional quality level.

It may not be glamorous but you can take care of the income concerns pretty quickly this way. Then you can focus on building your online marketing business in your spare time.

      Hope that helps,

      Mike

Thanks everyone for all of your kind comments, they're all very much appreciated.

Also for the number of suggestions given to the OP. It's good to see the old Warrior spirit is still alive and kicking on this forum. I take my hat off to all of you.

Just one little thing which needs mentioning...

I've received a number of requests via email from other members now all looking for free coaching.

I'm sorry but I cannot possibly look after more than two newbies at any one time.

The amount of time taken to help a newbie is considerable and to put myself in a position of helping more than two individuals for free, at any one time, would be counter productive. I have to know where to draw the line and experience tells me...

I cannot possibly take on any more than two persons at the same time.

For the moment I'm now helping Christian, the OP of this thread and another gentleman...

A psychologist and senior lecturer formerly working for Huddersfield University in the north of England who is looking to break into the Internet marketing industry.

For now I'm fully booked up so please, no more inquiries of this nature if you don't mind.

        Thanks,

        Hi CHPA,

        Mike has the right idea...

If you have any writing ability (and you do just based on your post in this thread) then IMO article writing is the absolute fastest and easiest way to start getting those dollars coming in.

Many a warrior here has done article writing to work themselves out of a bad situation

You don't need to own anything to do it and don't need to invest in anything to get started. If you don't have your own computer you can go to your local library where I'm sure they also have a free internet connection. On the other hand if you do own a computer you can connect to the internet from a Starbucks or a McDonalds for free.

        Best of Luck,

        Justin

Wow! I know you are trying to help the guy, but with the whopping $2.43 per 500 word article that iwriter pays new writers (those with less than 30 reviews and 4 stars), he'd have to write 165 articles just to make the $400. That is not very good advice.

If by chance he were able to churn out that much content he'd be better off promoting an affiliate offer or MMR product and using all that work to build backlinks.
As for the people that are telling him to go out and get a traditional job, you guys show some level of kindness, but are not really listening to the problem. He said that there is a great lack of opportunity where he is. That may not be an option for him.
On the other hand, I suspect that a few of those who told him to look offline for work do not have the confidence to make it online themselves. Therefore, they cannot give real advice.
The fact is that freelancing could be an option for him, but not at low paying sites like iwriter (Sorry Brad).
Ebay is not a great option for making money in 2 weeks either simply because
      1. He needs a product to sell. He could opt to work with a dropshipper, but it can be hard to find one that does not require a reseller's license, or a membership fee and even harder to find one that can be trusted.
      2. What if his method of receiving payment is through Paypal? Paypal holds the money that new sellers on Ebay make for up to 20 business days. That means that even if he did sell enough of something to make the $400 he needs, there's no guarantee he'll get the money in time. Sure, the wait time might be less if he marks the order as shipped right away, but again, there's no guarantee.
If anyone were to offer him assistance, the keyword research masters should step forward (not saying that I am one, because I certainly am not). They should find him keywords he can rank for quickly that can bring in a nice lump of traffic. Then, he could make sales and get more than enough in the bank. (just a thought).
Sure, I know it's rough out there. I was homeless for several years and unable to find a job. If it was not for the fact that I grew confident in my ability to make an online income, I would have stayed out there a lot longer. I finally became a freelance writer who was willing to write high quality articles for low pay. I made enough income through fiverr and guru.com to move in to an apartment and sustain myself, but it took a long time before I could master writing more than 10 articles a day, let alone 164 articles in the first 2 weeks of my writing career! Especially not when dealing with homelessness!
I am glad to say that the most articles I have ever written in a day was 30, but this came only after being in the business for a whole year.
I believe that he can make it, but he has to be given sound advice. That doesn't mean that only a guru can figure out how a newbie can make $400 fast online.
You just gotta think smarter. Making money online fast is all about strategy. 100% doable.

It's actually really good advice. If you write 165 articles and have under a 4 star rating, you have a very very poor grasp on the English language. I am very confident in saying there is a slim in none chance that would ever happen. He would be promoted to Premium, and likely Elite if he actually wrote articles without broken English and did any sort of research on a topic.

This has been a very educational post, I've learned 3 things from it already.

1 - Mark Andrews is truly an amazingly generous individual. Mark your offer to assist the OP is a refreshing act of kindness, especially on a day when the news is filled with acts of unimaginable hatred. Have to say I was quite moved when I read your post.

2 - Warriors in general are also helpful individuals who give up their time freely to assist other people, despite the fact that in some respects they may very well be aiding the competition. Mark is not the first Warrior whose generosity has been displayed on this forum.

3 - My opinion of David Braybrooke could not be lower. I'd say more on the subject but it would require violating the forum rules on the use of profanity.

To the OP, CHPA - perhaps you could tell us what your skill set is so we could offer more advice based upon your abilities and interests.

      To the OP,

You said you cannot afford to move, but can you afford NOT to move? Being homeless is rock bottom, so if that means finding a place where the abundace of jobs is much higher then I know what I would be doing. But I definitely don't know much about your situation and I do my best to not judge anyone, just offering my 2 cents.

I have heard many success stories of people going from rock bottom to the top. Hitting rock bottom is often times the kick one needs to be successful.

Kudos to Mark for stepping up to the plate and helping out here...we need more people like you!

Mark is a downright good person and a great inspiration - I'm glad that you two were able to hook up.

Something I will say for Chris...

      His writing is superb!

Now I've got him to split up his rather large paragraphs it's really really good.

In the past couple of days, I've got him thinking about his niche and creating products for it.

If the writing style in the first product he sent to me yesterday is anything to go by many of you wouldn't go far wrong employing Chris to write for your business.

Not only is he exceptionally keen, he's obviously got a huge amount of motivation. He listens to instructions carefully and all in all is an absolute pleasure to work with.

But what impressed me most of all was his writing style - it's absolutely top notch with not a spelling error in sight.

So if you need a sports writer for example (his top niche) he's definitely got to be one of your go to guys to go to for writing articles, short reports etc.

Contact him today - I'm sure he'd appreciate any work you offer him right now.

I completely stand behind my recommendation to take him on.

Give him a chance guys - LET HIM SHINE!

You can thank me later for putting him on to you.

      Smoking hot,

I got your point. There is a misconception about Internet Marketing to the newbie. Maximum of them think that they would make huge amount of money within very short period of time. But fact is this is completely impossible in this field. I would like to tell you that it would be better if you do not concentrate on too many topics. Just concentrate on those tasks what you think that you are brilliant about that. Keep continue your great efforts on those tasks. . Success would definitely come.

    Hi CHPA,

    Hi, this is Jennie...

Mark contacted me via PMB to tell me about this thread.

Please contact me for some copy work. Mark told me he feels you can do copy work as a copy cub for me. The last one I was working with is now doing well with his own copywriting business, so I lost my Copy Cub!

Mark looked at your sample report and it seemed fine to him, so please forward it to me so I can review it too at the email below.

I am always turning down article jobs and smaller copywriting gigs as I am always overbooked. I would be happy to work with you and see if we can help each other out so you can make some cash.

He seems to be very personable and ready to work and is doing the first project right now.

I will keep him busy with small projects, research, writing articles, and I can give him some products to sell and marketing tips so for now he is busy and making some cash.

But feel free to contact him with any work you have and give him whatever products and inspiration you feel you can give to boost his spirits.

Thanks all for taking the time to give of yourself and the encouragement he needed.

And a special thanks to Mark Andrews for letting me know he needed work.

      Steady up Jennie lass!

I don't think he's ready to start copywriting, in fact, I've purposefully left this suggestion off to him completely.

A copywriter at this stage he is not. And I don't want too many people to overwhelm his head space with too much knowledge coming from too many sources at this vital stage of his new business.

One step at a time please!

Article / content writing sure, I have no problem with this. The work will be good for Chris. Just no copywriting at all thank you at this stage.

Also, the piece he wrote for me isn't to be used as a sample.

This piece is simply a part of his coaching program to date. His work doesn't need to be analyzed by others for accuracy or ability just yet.

If you was to give him feedback on this particular piece and offer up advice contrary to the feedback which I've already given upon this piece, this could very easily undermine the work and the number of hours I'm expending helping Chris out at this point in his personal coaching.

Like I said, if you want articles or content to be written, by all means do contact him directly, I know he would most definitely appreciate the work. The price will be an absolute minimum of $10 per 500 words.

I stand by my recommendation to use him, to tap into his skill in writing which ought to be a good enough reason to hire him straight off the bat without requiring any samples which are being used as part of my personal one-on-one coaching.

Many thanks for your understanding Jennie.

        Hi Mark,

Yes, as we agreed per PMB.

He is working on research for me and some article writing and he will work up to writing some emails and web copy in time. I have no intention of giving him any copy cubbing now, that is your place as he is working with you on his copywriting skills.

He will work his way up in time to copywriting with your guidance I am sure.

But he needs money now, and that I can help him with.

        Regards,

        Jennie Heckel

********* UPDATE TO WORK QUALITY I RECEIVED*************

The research work I gave Chris to do turned out great!

I gave him several of my best article writing materials to help him be able to understand how to write SEO optimized articles as that is the first place I would try to make money if I needed it quick when I first started out.

        So you all know...

I do thank all of you for showing me the true depth of "the warm hearts you have"!

Yes, I do agree this is NOT a work for hire section of this forum.

But the fellow copywriter "good will" and "giving to those that are in need" comments made me feel good inside about my fellow copywriters and other Warrior members who were unselfish and gave.

This thread is one to warm ALL our hearts during this holiday season!

Dukegman - thank you! I'll pass on the message.

          Jennie...

Thank you to you too for understanding.

You make me feel like an old mother hen clucking around protectively around her new chick lol.

I'm not actually teaching Chris copywriting at all. Not at this stage. This business as you know is far too involved for just anyone to take to and I don't think Chris is yet ready to take this particular bull by the horns.

What I am teaching him is product creation. Getting him started on the right foot in a staged managed process, simple steps...

          Step 1

          Step 2

          Step 3 etc;

Today he's working on his first short report / hotsheet as per Gordon Alexander's Hotsheet Profits report which he now has in his possession.

The idea being this will be the front end offer offered at a lower price to first start building up a list particular to his chosen niche, his personal area of excellence, his potential specialization.

This will act as the first stage of his sales funnel to a bigger, better, and more 'expensive' backend product which process I explained to him earlier today to help him to understand more clearly the bigger picture.

I think this guy is definitely going places!

          Kindest regards to you both,

I know it's hard and have been there myself more than once. Just keep hammering at it... Best advice I could give you is to find a product that pays a high commission and promote that through free social media (videos, facebook, etc) - ya might get lucky and make a few sales.

Awesome to see a lot of folks in here helping.

My bit of advice: For adult marketing - promote webcams & choose the "revshare" option.

Of course, this goes without saying.

This young man isn't the first 'student' I've taken on. Over the years I've been on this forum, I've taught several people, some of which have gone on to make a very, very good income online.

Thanks for your words of wisdom. Appreciated.

      A little update...

Chris is doing exceptionally well. A real pleasure to work with. Easy going communications, asking all the right kind of questions, flexible / adaptable, a good listener, and is certainly prepared to take massive action.

Since his writing is so good for a complete newbie, I've stated that he is not to be paid less than $10 per 500 words at the start of his online business, this being a little fill in role to help him to hit his target of $400. Which incidentally, he's already halfway there.

Admittedly, this might not sound like a great deal but bear in mind he's only been going for a few days.

Certainly, I know of many so called marketers who haven't made a single dime in several months let alone making a couple hundred dollars in the first day or two - so I think he's doing exceptionally well.

Some of you older members, you know me well enough.

You know I don't take a lot of crap from anyone but on the whole, I like to think I also provide a lot of help towards other members of this forum every week.

Since I've been here, what five / six years now - you know I wouldn't waste your time. If I state someone is a good writer, it's because s/he is a good writer. Nothing more, nothing less.

So, if any of you need any writing carried out for your business, if any of you specifically are looking for sports related articles or nutrition, healthy eating related articles or content...

Please do send Chris (the OP) a private message. Just remember please to include your email address for communication purposes. (500 words $10).

Chris is just as happy btw writing in both American and British English.

I lived in a van before. No fun. So, to the OP hang in there.

Admittedly, this might not sound like a great deal but bear in mind he's only been going for a few days.

Simple answer for you then isn't it?

      Don't pass comment on it.

      Sorry to state the obvious.

      In the meantime...

I'll be doing everything within my power to get this newbie off to a flying start given his present predicament.

If you have an objection to this, this says a great deal more about where your personal mind is at in the great scheme of things than it does for anything else.

      What exactly is your problem?

I guess you'd rather just read another 101 threads entitlted...

How do I get traffic to my website?

How do I pick my nose?

How do I wipe my bum, kind of threads?

Here you've got a guy in need, in this situation through no fault of his own (huge High Street chain store, one of the most respected names on the UK High Street which because of the recession, as with many other national chain retailers, recently went to the wall in liquidation laying off thousands of staff nationally) yet you think...

Yet you want to focus on the negative aspects of this thread over and above the positive attributes?

      Very telling. Very telling indeed.

I think your playing on peoples emotions.

after all, it is the season of giving.

You're promoting services in the wrong section of the forum. It's a simple as that. No need to attack my character to deter from your intent of promoting in a higher traffic area instead of the correct area.

        Sorry to state the obvious.

It's okay I 'heard' you the first time, no need to write an identical post out twice for effect.

Something I learned a long time ago in this business...

You cannot please everyone all of the time. I long ago gave up trying to do so. There will always be someone who likes to criticize no matter what.

Fyi - I am not promoting a service here, in fact, I've turned down almost a dozen people who similarly have asked me via email to coach them for free too.

I'm doing this purely and simply because I want to help this guy out. No other reason. And at the moment, he's receiving a lot of help from me, a few hours a day at least.

I'm sorry for you you feel the way you do.

Maybe, hopefully given time, your attitude will change and you'll start to realize what it means to be a member of this excellent community and likewise, you'll be putting yourself in a position (with no catches) where you too extend a huge offer of help towards someone you've never met before and don't know from Adam, simply because it's the way many of us enjoy doing things around here.

You haven't really been around this forum though long enough yet to know this.

Not your fault but at least you know now.

Now, be off with you and lets start seeing some more of this festive spirit flying around. I know what I'd rather see...

More people helping other people over and above reading posts by armchair critics in this business for themselves only.

Ummm... Mark? What does time in this forum have to do with ones understanding of good will, or their desire to be helpful?

There are quite a lot of people in the world who feel that broadcasting your helpfulness shows other motivations than a desire to help. I don't personally think that's always true, but it IS a commonly held belief. That may contribute a bit to some of the responses you've gotten.

            Just something to consider.

All great ideas. With all of this you should be able to get something going.

My $0.02 is to write a Kindle book. Search the web and consolidate the best of the best information on whatever subject you choose. Make it super valuable. Create a cover; you can do this for free. I use Inkscape/Gimp - free software. Find free fonts and free images. Upload, promote, profit. The only bad thing is that it will take 60 days to get paid, but from my experience after that first 60 days it's a monthly paycheck.

Don't be too sure about that. Chris must be doing very well at this point. I made him an offer to do some writing in an area he appears to be comfortable with (via this board and followed up by a private message) and he hasn't bothered to respond so obviously to me he has all the work he needs and that's great.

Why can't he make it online? I'm sorry, you just lost me there completely.

Why is online vs offline special? What is it about working in a particular location which would yield such an extraordinary difference i.e. earning no or very little money in the given time frame over another 'platform'?

You can't state he's not going to do it online. Fact is, he's already doing it online. Simple.

Online my friend is simply a communications tool. It enables people to connect with one another. Provide solutions to others problems and frustration switching these out to pleasure upon finding an answer to their point of need.

Doesn't matter whether it's on or offline, it makes not one iota of difference. It all depends how you use the tools and the knowledge you have at your disposal.

It's not that he hasn't 'bothered' to respond, fact is, he's busy completing other work at the moment on top of completing assignments I've set for him.

He's also just completed a writing assignment for another top copywriter on this forum. At present, he's extremely busy.

              Most likely.

These types of things are very interesting. I know with the amount of things I learn every second it's always interesting to find out how someone can teach another person to to build an ever-growing business in the long-term.

Every new business needs investment Fin. Not just money but time too. And the right kind of knowledge applied into action to see worthwhile results.

I'm utilizing a multi pronged approach. First things first helping him to stay on top of his short term bills so he doesn't become homeless. But also helping him to see the bigger picture and focusing in like a laser on the long term pay off.

Hence the reason for leveraging my many contacts in the business to help solve his immediate problem.

I'm also helping him to concentrate all of his efforts and personal skills in a single minded drive to help others, so he in turn over time sees a decent return on his own investment.

If he has money left over from the urgent short term goal, I'm encouraging him to use this spare capital to further cement his future in this business.

I'd focus on something you are good at and see how you can make "quick" "easy" money $5 -$10 and then when you found a way that works, keep doing it and start coming up with growth ideas

You need to do something that most business owners do not want to do to get business and high quality leads. Noone wants to knock on doors to generate business. Go find a business and tell them you will cold knock on residential doors to develop leads. try to get $50 for each lead or appointment. As for which industries would pay this amount for quality prospects... My guess is financial or medical would be a good start. High net profit industries. No retail or restaurants. Be sure to get paid in the evening, direct deposit or get a company check for your production. Insist upon same day compensation.

Can anyone says what is the actual situation?

I think that this need to be taken seriously, and be a motivation for all of us, thank you Mark for share this and this guy!

I was on a similar situation more than 20 years ago and on another city far from my parents, and the "last drop of the glass" was that my father dead, on a desperate night waiting for the bus, somebody pay me the bus ticket in order to go to be on my home, it was hard, I needed to sell many things, my graduate ring, my watch, radio, books, many thing until I can sell the house and start over, but at the end, I am here.

I can offer you the same, my hosting, mailing autoresponder, my Master Resell ebooks, Master Resell software, etc. just PM me, please.

      Good Luck!

Many important people was in your situation and was the reason to let them to be what they were, like Miguel De Cervantes who wrote one of the most selling books in the history, "Don Quixote De La Mancha", he wrote his book after lost his job at the curt.

To the OP, short and sweet: Pick your poison among the big four IM opportunities---freelancing, site building, wholesaling, and offline IM promotion ventures. Pick one or more from these basic categories, and proceed like gangbusters. Just remember to break each activity down to some clear cookie cutter process that you can sustain.

Answer 4-5 postings on several of the most responsive freelancing sites/forums each day, so you'll be usually have some small cash trickling in. Find a couple of suppliers who need eBay resellers, and open/successfully conclude several auctions a day. Create a monetized website or blog on a fixed schedule (one each 2 weeks?) and use it to build targeted lists. Cold call or contact 50 local businesses a week about creating/fixing their website, to get 5 appointments/wk, leading to at least one sale at $250 or more (then do it yourself or outsource). That kind of thing. Hustle!

Yet to do this, but I'd think about finding products on the cheap, grabbing a screen shot and posting em for sale in various places - ebay, etc... once you receive payment, order the goods from your source and send em out...
Wish I had a magic wand for you...
Sincerely wish you all the best...

Okay, this is my first post and I must say I never thought I would be posting on this type of thread as a first.

First, I was working at the same exact job for eleven years when we were hauled in 15 days before Christmas in 2011 and told that we would be transferred about 500 miles away in about 9 months. This after being told about 11 months earlier that they had just extended our lease for another five years.

I live in a state where the unemployment rate was over 11%.
Well, after mailing out over 100 job applications, after going out on many interviews, I was able to land a job THAT PAID MORE in about 12 months.

Here is my take on the internet, you can make money, but no way in hell is it easy unless you own domains such as those that Rick Shwartz owns.

I personally own about 300 domains and have bought, sold and traded many, but it is not easy.

You have been made a great offer and wish you tremendous success. But, remember, pounding the pavement still works better than fiverr.com, twentyville.com, or whatever.

Three of the most important words that I teach my children:

    "Never Give Up."

    Good Luck

CHPA, You need to leverage your time at this point, in lieu of money (which you sorely lack). I am not sure if you are a resident of a English speaking country (especially the US), but you seem to have good English writing and grammatical skills. Many young people do not, due to texting, but that is another rant for another day. Freelance sites like Elance, Freelancer, ODesk or even Fiverr are your friend right now. You may have to volunteer some free or lowball priced content to get some feedback on the first 3 sites. Once you have things clicking, you can make $400 a week easily. I saw a video on Youtube last week about a Pakistani women named Salma Jafri. She has a blog to help people, do what she has done, according to her video on Youtube. Watch her YT channel and some of the recommended videos too. She is in a country wrought with political and infrastructure issues, that she speaks about in this video. Yet, she has built a lucrative business through freelance content writing. She does translation services too, but you can make good money doing online research, content creation, data entry, building backlinks (tons of free courses on how to do that), forum/Twitter posting and virtual assistant work. Many US based real estate investors, prefer US based virtual assistants. Since, many of the clients are US/UK/Canada based, you have a built-in edge, as most Indian, Pakistani and even Malaysian freelancers have reputations for doing mediocre work, not being able to decipher and perform tasks as instructed and having a sub-par command of writing English, even if they speak it well. I see it on the Warrior Forum all the time, lol. You can even visit some Blackh@t forums and download some courses on freelancing, content writing, SEO & backlinking, as well as forum VIP memberships for $25 month for all the softwares to help automate your freelance business (SENuke, AMR, Scrapebox, The Best Spinner etc) hosted on their VPN (virtual private network). They pay for the software and host it on their server, which allows multiple users to login remotely with furnished usernames/passwords. I can't recommend any sites, as blackhat anything is frowned upon on WF, but I've learned the real deal on those sites and have unlimited access to courses and software FREE. They really took my IM career to the next level. I come to WF primarily to research and buy the quality WSOs only (I dont share them online like others). You can market your services on the Warrior Forum and these BH/IM sites too. I knew someone who found a cheap Facebook Fanpage creation software and sells Fanpages on Fiverr and 10 large IM/BH sites. He makes several hundred a month, and that's not including the Wordpress design and SEO services he offers. He started small and slow, but still made over $400 his first month.

The first thing you need to learn how to market, is YOURSELF. Learn a few easy, repetitive tasks, that Internet Marketers who are making good money are too busy to do themselves and offer them at a lower price than your competition, then when you get a good rep on that forum or freelance site, you can slowly mark up your prices. If you are lazy, inpatient and quick to fluster, than this is not the business for you. Not completing tasks on deadlines or being flip and rude with clients, will tar you with the proverbial Scarlett Letter on that forum or freelance site. You can even find companies that will allow you to work as a virtual customer service rep, if you have a quiet home, reliable computer and landline phone service. Pays like $15-16 hr. Why people work at that plantation called Walmart is beyond me, it's just a horrible case of unwillful ignorance of their options in life. Google/Yahoo/Bing/Youtube is the poor man's or women's best friend. I guess someone has to work there and its them.

Worst case, you can make money with clinical trials. Go to jalr .org or clinicaltrials .gov They have links to all the drug companies that offer these trials listed by city/state. Pharmaceutical companies will pay people $1000-$8000 to test medications, so they can be approved by the FDA. Some drugs are already on the market, being tested for different uses or doses. Like prostate drug Proscar, is now being marketed as Propecia in lower doses to treat male pattern baldness. Some are new and unapparoved, so you might want to get in a 2nd or 3rd group, not the 1st one. I seen one single mom, who only does trials, for FDA-approved drugs already on the market. Makes less money, but can still support her and her child, until she can find a decent job. You might even get the placebo (water) pill. I did one 4 years ago and made $3500 for 12 days at their facility and 1 follow-up. I brought my backup, a IBM Thinkpad laptop (no webcam allowed) and USB stick and actually did some online marketing and campaigns, since there's nothing to do there, but watch TV, listen to music or surf the net. No physical issues or side effects and took a complete detox regimen right after. I took that money and used it to buy SENuke and purchase paid traffic, haven't looked back since. Quoting one of favorite rap groups "Tribe Called Quest", "Scared Money Don't Make None". Sadly, there's lots of scaredy cats, ultra skeptics, pessimists and Doubting Thomases residing on WF, who are most likely having little to no success in online marketing. I'm not saying it's 100% safe, but you have to make ballsy, gutsy decisions at times. Jay-Z (and his 2 partners) started Roc-A-Fella (Kanye West, himself) and Baby started Cash Money Records (Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake) with illegal proceeds from drug trafficking. A young Black man from the housing projects with no credit or high paying job, is not going to get financing to start a record company from a bank or venture capital firm. Both men now have net worths over $150M today. Not justifying that lifestyle per say, but my larger point is about have the cajones to take chances in life, when your back is against the wall and you want more out of that life.

I bookmarked an article years ago on Wired .com named "Drug Test Cowboys", which made me take that one-time leap myself. About some guy named Nick, who made $80K in 3 years, as a F/T clinical trial volunteer (aka lab rat). He was burdened with student loan debt and B.S low wage job and turned to this to make extra money. I met several full-timers myself, the 2 weeks I was at my trial. I don't recommend playing Russian Roulette like that mysefl. There's a 7 minute video on Youtube called "Drug Me, Pay Me" from CurrentTV, that's informative also. If you're outside the US, you can hopefully Google clinical trials where you are. ANY QUESTIONS, YOU CAN PM ME. GOOD LUCK!

Keep looking for a job. You have to have money to live that is guaranteed. Maybe even an online job. Mow grass, rake leaves, wash cars...Then start posting on Craigslist for affiliate marketing or CPA offers. You could also post on free ad sites. Make some flyers and pass out with CPA offers that would be of interest to local people.
