Best Way To Deliver Free PDF From Opt-In?

Hi Folks,

Hope all is well with everyone!

I am just getting one of my project sites going and creating my free giveaway for opting in.

Can you please suggest the best ways to deliver the PDF to people who opt-in? I do have an Aweber account... if that is best.

    Put it in your welcome e-mail for that campaign. It looks like this:

    1. You put your opt-in form on your website: "Join my list and get a free report!"
    2. Subscriber joins your list
    3. Subscriber receives an e-mail to confirm they want to be on your list.
    4. Subscriber confirms
    5. Your welcome e-mail comes: "Hi [Subscriber], thanks for joining my list! Your free report can be found here: [link]"

      Just wondering exactly how to establish the link?
      Looks like uploading the PDF to my website and that creates the link to the download?

        Exactly.

        You know how to link to a webpage, right?

        All you have to do is upload your report and then link to it in the e-mail.

    Yes. Deliver it in the email you send to confirm their email. Chose your button text carefully when they are submitting their mail - don't use the word submit, for instance :-)

    Email it to them. After they opt-in, tell them to check their email to get the free ebook. Boosts traffic too. And include an offer at the bottom of the email.

      Do you have an offer at the bottom of welcome email AND send them to an offer page on the confirmation?

    In the welcome email I include a link to my site where they can download the PDF.

    Once they've opted in they'll see the 'thank you' page which will explain an email is being sent to them with further instructions, that means if they really want the PDF they'll have to put a legit email in which many people don't first time round trying to just grab the freebie.

    I always deliver everything within their first email follow up

    I have been doing this for years and it works fine for me and everything has always got delivered fine

    One of the easiest and fastest ways is to:

    1) Upload the pdf to your website so that your leads can directly access it through an internal page.

    2) Create a follow up email that sends out the download link.

    1. Upload it to a server.

    2. Setup A follow up in aweber with link for the free ebook.

    3. Create Webform

    4. Insert in page

    5. Done


    The reason its best to send via follow up, is so they have enter a real email to get acess to it.

      If you're really stuck with uploading the PDF to your web space by FTP - you could upload it to a free cloud service, such as box.net or dropbox.

      There are other options like Amazon S3 - but if FTP scares you, that's probably a little advanced. Box.net has a nice easy user interface to deal with.

      Once you upload, click on 'Share' and it will give you a URL you can use in your welcome email. It will also give you info on how many times it has been viewed, which could be of use.

    I would say put the download link on the opt-in page. Personally I like to give my freebie away without forcing them to opt-in. Sure I get less people on my list but those that do are the ones who are much more receptive to buying.
