Constantly post. Low competition products. I put about 2-3 hours a day.

If you want to stick with Amazon Associate Program find high ticket items with a sales rank (at bottom of product listing page) if no number it's not selling and avoid that product. create a blog with the model name or number as a domain. Learn more from a simple WSO called "High Ticket Affiliate Programs" by HP Jeschke. It is a very short but simple explanation and not a full course tho.

I did a little review on that wso - you could check some wso's from Calvin Woon also. The blog/model name idea is an excellent one, I did one for the gaming niche, had some nice conversions.

@Kokjaywin - Leverage what you already have. How? By using your stats to identify what is selling. Drive more traffic to the pages that are converting.

Review products that are high in price and low in competition. That's where the best bang for your buck (effort) is in Amazon.

What kind of products in Amazon give commission for more than $100 per sale?

There are TONS of them. Look into jewelry, electronics, appliances, clothing. And then break it down even further. Earrings, computers, coffee makers, jackets.

          There's a lot.

I have been reading the Paula and Wanda's blog. They said that most of their incomes are from those 10 reviews. I think the product selection here is very important. But what are the products that can keep people buying and buying over the years? hmm..just wondering

Any product can be bought over years and years. Why settle for 10 reviews when you can do more than that? Most of my income comes from two sites with TONS of reviews.

Another thing, this is what I do and it works for me. If I'm not too sure of a product I research the company. For instance, if I were to get into the electronics niche obviously the popular companies would be "Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, Dell, etc. etc.". But if I were to approach something unknown such as who knows TCL? I'll look it up on Google and type in "TCL + Product" or TCL + TV" or whatever the it's known for. And I'll look into the shopping section and see if it has a lot of reviews for their past products. And if that's the case, then I'll go for that product.

I also just look at the trends. Google News, Yahoo, MSN etc. It all depends on what product you're after. I read my newsfeed on Facebook and I even go on Tumblr since everyone there posts pictures, mainly materialistic objects (a bunch of kids). Now's the time to do a lot of research since Christmas is around the corner.

As you know, tablets are on the rise. Along with smart phones as always. You might want to start with that.

    • I'm really interested in making more of Amazon. It has such potential. I do so much shopping there. Everyone I know shops there. Just to find the right key.

Thanks for the suggestions in this thread. I need to finish going through a course I have and be consistent with working on it.

Nice blog but there's one thing I disagree on. And that's where you mentioned only go for "$150 products and up."

In my opinion, you're missing out on making more $$.

Let's say you have a $150 item, perhaps a power drill. And let's say that power drill doesn't come with a battery. Within that content, you can talk about how it doesn't come with a battery, and there you can hyperlink the keyword "battery" that will lead to another page within your Amazon site. So not only do you have a potential buyer in that power drill, you also have that person buying that battery.

Bare in mind, the referral rate resets every month. In this day and age people are tight with their money. They'll buy a lot of cheap products, and that can raise the referral rate much faster if you go for all sorts of prices and NOT just $150 + products.

Also, heads up. Most if not all electronics cap at 4%. I sold a $2,500 item the other day and made ONLY $25 and THAT'S not even 4% so I think it either caps at 4% or $25 .

That's awesome. But wouldn't it be great if you can get a TARGETABLE audience? Those that are ready to hit the buy now button but they just want to hear a couple of things before they buy the product?

First of all I do not support that we need to quite our job if we know the proper methods. If you spend only couple of hours then it would be enough along with your main job. There are couple of ways. First of all choose some review products. You need to keep it mind one thing in this stage. Never choose those products where the competition is very high. Go for high price as much as possible. Just do it and see the result. Best of luck

The problem with getting traffic via SEO is that even if your income is steady for some time then one google update could cause your rankings to tank overnight so quitting your job is risky.

Another problem is that most landlords require employer references to prove you have an income because they only want tenants who are working. If you don't intend on moving then that wouldn't be a problem, but it could be if you move.

The fastest way to succeed in any marketing is through the right training. Sure, it only works with putting in your time and energy.

3 figures a month is something that everyone can achieve in a short period of time. If you are following a proven formula, it should not take you more than 60 days to make a couple hundred dollars.

    Take action, it pays.

The more products you promote the more your earn - it's as simple as that. When you choose products to promote make sure they are popular and will pay you well. Last but not the least, learn how to drive traffic to your site. If you should hire a coach, hire one who can teach you good SEO or how to derive the best from paid traffic.

Picking the right products is key. Yes Amazon is great at converting traffic as any organisation with their resources should be; but you need to be promoting products that have positive reviews and are proven best sellers. If they are high ticket then great; but bear in mind that your commission percentage is based on how many orders you get so low ticket items bought more regularly will increase your commission percentage across the board. A healthy mix of high and low ticket is essential.

I have a few sites which sale cheap amazon products for less then a $, just for the sole purpose
of getting my amazon % up, so on the 1st day of the new month i can be on 6% to 7% but your % only gos up once the item has shipped, and i always have unshipped items from the previous month
which get shipped on the 1st which helps get the % up

How are you promoting products on Tumblr? Is it via a product review? Is Tumblr easier to rank than a wordpress site?

Being an Amazon affiliate can be very rewarding especially with so many plugins available designed for you to easily make product posts. Here is an idea -

Get a self hosted wordpress blog

Get an Amazon oriented theme (I like the Azon theme Buy Chris Guthrie of Ultimum Review Theme by Edwin Boiten)

Get an autoposting plugin like WP Robot or Amaniche (I use Amaniche, not autoposter but nice thing is it allows you to select products you want and can schedule them)

For each product you choose get target keywords (product names with buy, order etc or part-numbers are better because they normally don't have high competition)

NOTE - Do not be worried about the price tag even a $0.99 product is fine cheaper products get bought more and they will push your commission %age faster. Make sure to include high ticket items also.

After you have done the above, set up your blog for auto-syndication

Open accounts at Web 2.0 sites like Blogger, LiveJournal, Tumblr, (not wordpress - they will close your account), and others.

Open social bookmark accounts like Delicious, Connotea, Blinklist, Diigo, etc

I think the best approach is to go to IFTTT.com and it will guide you which accounts to open

The go to onlywire.com and do the same. Also Hootsuite.com

Also go to wordpress.com and search for content syndication plugins (free plugins)

Then link your accounts such that every time your blog updates itself with a new product post that post can be syndicated to all those Web 2.0 and Social Bookmarking sites. make sure your internal SEO is top notch.

This way easy to rank for keywords will bring you good results. The setup can be achieved in a day or 2 but it will be worth the effort. If you are on a budget you don't need to buy the theme and the paid plugins. You can go free all the way until you make some money.

    I hope that helps
