Need Ideas for 2 Wordpress Setups

Hi guys,

I like to hear your ideas for 2 separate wordpress setups.

1) A 2 language web site. Content of 1 site should be available in German and English. Would you keep 2 separate installations or somehow put both in 1 installations. How?

2) A membership with 2 payments.
Upon registration the member pays 1 Dollar, if he stays a member for 1 day he's charged a recurring 1 year fee of 10,- .

Is there a wordpress compatible membership script that manages payment and access to content for paid(registered users?

    Here are a few options to point you in the right direction.

    1) I would create the site in one language and just use the translation plugin available for anyone that wants to read it in another language.

    2)There are 2 noteworthy WP Membership Plugin Scripts that add a membership functionality to any WP site; WishList and MemberWing. They both will do what you are asking and a lot more. I have not used either one yet but have been researching the options and have narrowed it down to those 2.

    1) Not sure if you're using the 2.7.1 version or not, but if you search the wordpress plugins site, you'll find WP_multilingual, which might help for the German/English in a single installation.

    Ralf,
    You may also want to checkout RAP (Rapid Action Profits) and the Membership Plugin for RAP...which can turn any WP install into a password protected Membership Site and has a pretty intuitive interface for handling your type of setup.
