Hey, we are a very big Startup from Germany.
We have only the best coders and want to launch February 2013.

What we ask ourselves, how we should Promote / Market our Startup.
What would be some advise?
Writing some articles and publishing it all over the net? Social Media?

Thank you.

PS: If you have the Promotion skills and can get us some traffic and want to earn some good money, write me a PM with your Skype name.

No sorry, cant give you Information now about that.
The only thing I can say is:

It is very unique and innovative. Its completely new on the Internet History.
If we calculated right (and if the Promoting and Marketing is done well), we will be VERY successful with that Idea, because we dont have any competitors.

Its not an Idea just like making some 100$ a day. If this business will work, we will make 7figure earnings.
But until then we will need a very good promotion.

So Im asking for some advise.

If someone can help us, we would very appreciate it and pay a good percentage of the revenue(JV-Basis), so if we will hit high number earnings, the Promoter is successful too.

If you can speak natively English and can give us some advise / Promote for us, write me a PM with your Skype Name for more info.

Videos, articles, presentations across many different high traffic platforms online will help gain exposure to what you have to offer.

Create content around the problem your product solves and produce it in the formats mentioned above.

Would need more details to give better suggestions, if you wanted to inbox me I can do that there.

I would advise you to create videos and distribute them across video sharing sites and other social media. Also you should submit press releases about your company, and submit them to press release sites. Also create a Facebook Fan Page and have a giveaway contest for people that "Like" your page. Basically try to get your name out there any way you can.

For the last 2 plus years now the big push on Facebook is to get people to like your page. This looks good but it does not make you any money. You now have to post hoping those who have liked your page will read your post. Highly unlikely. About 1% of your fans will ever read your post. The greatest single thing you can do for your Facebook business page is go out there and like as many pages that are relevant to your business. Now you can login to you page (as your page), click "HOME" and read what your fans are posting in their timeline. As you comment and reply with relative information, they will see who you are and so will their fans.

I just put a page up at www.LVGold.com check out my example of who I am "liking" I really do not care about whether they like the page or not. I would prefer to capture their email address by offering them a coupon. I'm doing this with all types of Facebook business pages.

Step 1: Build a compelling page with an stunning cover image.

Step 2: Have a call to action right away in the cover. Use unique custom tabs.

Step 3: Offer them something of value for their contact information.

Okay, i will try it to do it like this.
I will setup a fb page and like other pages...

But mainly i have to get A LOT OF traffic.
Not just 20-30 visits a day.

    How can I archieve this?

How can I make this business "Famous"?

Interesting. Well, not sure if it will work with your product or service since it's a secret, but the one thing that has worked very well for my products is to have a fully functional free version that people can use.

Now, there is a very big difference between a free version and a demo version. I don't know anybody that likes to use the demo version of anything. In other words, your free version needs to be fully functional and should completely satisfy a decent portion of your market. For example, if your product is a WordPress plug-in that helps people to share their content over social media your free version should allow them to do so over some of the major social media channels. The paid version would then allow them to share over all social media avenues.

The key is to be able to deliver enough value with your free version so that it's a no-brainer for people to upgrade when they need to. If you are able to put your product or service in an already existing marketplace (E.G.the WordPress repository, or the iPhone App Store) you are able to leverage off of their already existing marketing infrastructure and your free version makes it very easy for people to give your product or service a try at no risk. Once they tried your product, like it, buy it, and then fall in love with it, more than likely they will share it with their friends.

The strategy works pretty well with the plug-ins that I've created and we spent about 1% of our time during the year marketing them.

You need to brand. That means that the name of your company has to be the one people look at in your related niches.

You will need one person to deal with the social campaigns. I have done it and it is a full time job.

      - Facebook and youtube were already mentioned.
      - Twitter (monitor your brand name and be ready to answer questions, they have also used it successful for customer service).
      - Stumble upon.
      - Pinterest (I´m just starting to play with this, but you can get in there from the infographics side, Paul Barrs has some great info about this in his blog).
      - Tumblr.

      Those are the main legs.

Get into the spirit of each one and play by the rules. You want to establish authority.

Also have someone monitoring yahoo answers and askville. Or setup an alert.

Besides the social side, you need paid advertising for your main keywords. And you want to buy banner space in main blogs related to your niche (so your logo starts being familiar).

Yes, you can use social media and writing articles for promotion, you have to use high PR for the sites that you are going to use.. Social Network is a good idea too..

What do you mean? you want to hire someone to manage your promotion? You can ask the warriors for hire session of the forum, you will probably have a lot of answers.

Make sure the person has experience in your particular situation; you can ask for a mindmap or a business plan first, before getting into a bigger compromise.

I've seen so many start-ups already that had a perfect codes but no good promotion.

Hire good IM expert. We are in the same situation like you but without money to hire a good marketer

One more thing - create a pre launch list.

Talk with big tech blogs like mashable, techcrunch and etc show them your product demo.

Do you have promo video? you need to create it.

Register at start-up lists you can find a lot of good suggestions about start-up promotion at Quora.

And send all traffic to pre-launch page with subscription form.

Collect emails, send them twice a week news about start-up development and allow some people to test drive the product form your list.

When you open your project - send email on your pre launch list.

But based on my experience if you are not the next BiG idea you'll have to work hard to promote your product... It's easy to create a product but it's very hard to promote it.

    Just my thoughts....
