EZA Article Gets 17K Views in 3 weeks With No Backlinking!....How????

Hello fellow warriors,

I was astonished when I saw this. This EZA article in the dating niche goet nearly 17K views in less than 3 weeks, which is very impressive!

Check it out here:

The Art of Approaching Women

It is ranked amongst the most viewed articles in its category for the last 90 days.

I was curious as to how this guy managed to get so many views. So the first thing I assumed is he must have some awesome backling! Right?

Well....I went to Yahoo Site Explorer pasted the url of the EZA article and found out the article had 220 links, BUT.....all of them from EZA from other articles that list his as one of the most viewed articles in the last 90 days. Nothing from another article directory, nothing from a HIGH PR website or blog or social bookmarking site.

I am really confused. I am very familiar with this niche and the article itself is not that good at all. There is much better out there. Also the title isn't catchy.

His article doesn't even rank on page 1 of google for the search term "art of approaching women".

How do you think he managed to pull it off?

Please share your thoughts.

Best Wishes,

Mark

Articles in the Most Viewed section do potentially get alot of visitors - especially that particular niche. Depends 'how' he got to Most Viewed though. That number does seem to be a bit inflated alright.

Many many many ways...all mostly blackhat. Ezine are not good at seeing the leaks and fixing them.

If an article is getting that many views, most likely it is highly ranked in the search engines, or the authoris using a couple different techniques to inflate their viewer count.

Do not let those type of numbers discourage you though. It is very difficult to get to those type of numbers. So, if your articles are not performing that well please to not let that get you down.

        Talk soon,

Well what he could be doing is pointing tons of other articles on EZA to that article. So they click on the link in his bio box and they go to his "main" article instead of his website.

If his other articles get views, he can rack up a lot of pageviews pretty quickly.

  • interesting, would it be worth pointing linking a bunch of your EZA articles to another EZA article? I think it would be a waste of your resource box. Also not sure that would mean the EZA article would get more views.

Well it depends on how many views your other articles get and how good your click thru rate is.

Suppose there are pro's and con's to that method. I personally would not do it, but it is possible.

I tried that... EZA told me that I couldn't link to another of my EZAs unless it was part of a series of articles.

They used to allow this, but they've changed their policy. So if anybody is thiking about using this strategy be sure you know the rule or else your article will get rejected because of the link.

Ah thanks for the update. I didn't know they had changed this rule.

I can think of one blackhat way of getting lots of traffic to your article without lifting a finger. Not gonna post it here, obviously, I might need it in the future and don't want every dick and joe abusing the hell out of it.

could have a large list he emailed the link o or large twitter following and has the link to the article there.

Or simply just plain dumb luck., happens sometimes.

  • Yeah, I am thinking if this guy is using a blackhat trick.

i did hear of one blackhat trick-you buy ghost traffic from one of those sites that sell you 10,000 visits for like $50 or something. It will get you the views, but I doubt its real people. It will make it look like your EZA article has thousands of views and probably place it in the most views category which would automatically get hundreds of links to your article like with this guy.

However, what are the consequences of this? What do you think of this strategy? This is the only thing I am thinking this guy has done, other then what captivereef suggested; e-mailed his list (not sure why he would to view an EZA article) or twitter.

He could "buy traffic" as mentioned above or have a large email list or following on one of his sites.

Or he could post questions about the article in marketing forums with a link to it and asking people to look at it and see why it has a lot of views. (= more views) [] (just kidding, but it does work)

    Mark,
It's very possible that his article is ranking for other top terms organically...
