Email list set up [help needed]

Hey guys, I want to know something.

I've seen a lot of websites where you first have to enter your e-mail address to access to the free content and then the ADMIN of the site will get your e-mail. Well I want to know is there any template for wordpress for this, that can save me all the e-mail addresses and that will redirect the user to the download page automatically as fast as they sign in or subscribe, or is there any way to do this? I'll prefer free solutions.

I think it is possible with most autoresponder now. You just need to set the download page as the thank you page in your autoresponder set up. If you prefer free, you can go for mail chimp, free up to 2.5k subscribers. getresponse will offer you 1st month free and charge you after that.

Hi Andy! I hope all is well with you! To answer your question it would be much simpler to get an auto responder.

The best I would recommend is aweber simply because not only does it organize your email list it also offers excellent email templates and allows you to schedule when you want the emails to go out.

I hope you find this information useful.

    Kind regards

Hey, as mentioned above an autoresponder has all of these options.

    For example -

Aweber has an option to create simple web forms, embed them to your wordpress blog/site and capture leads.

Now, for a newbie like you this can get very techie so I recommend you to read my book(at the signature) and head straight to the techie stuff, It's with screenshots and everything.

You can also create a squeeze page.

    But I say...do both.

To do this you need two things.

    1) A squeeze page

    2) An autoresponder

To create your squeeze page there are a bunch of themes and templates out there. The most popular theme seems to be Optimize Press. This Wordpress theme allows you to create a variety of squeeze pages, sales pages, members pages and download pages all within Wordpress. For those with little technical knowledge it will save you a lot of time.

The next thing you need is an autoresponder. This is the tool that will collect and store the email addresses from your squeeze page. You can then create follow up emails that are sent out to the list automatically or you can create broadcast emails that are sent out whenever you like. The most popular autoresponder services nowadays tend to be Aweber and Get Response.

One other thing you have to bear in mind is the deliverability rate. Some free auto responders fail on this point but I find Aweber is the best out there in terms of deliverability and great customer service.
