Sending email to list is daunting

Using a hypothetical example, let's say you are running a skincare list, how do you send an email every few days and keep it interesting?

If I have store and build a list around that I would have no problem in creating content for the emails. Just let them know about a new product that you have added to the store or if you are offering a discount that might interest them, or let them know about new products on the horizon to do with that niche. But a list associated to a store has completely different expectations.

Skin care tips was the first thing to pop to mind. You could take that a little further incorporate relevant products into your articles. "Six Ways to Protect Your Grill this Winter", that kind of thing.

Email them every 3 days about some tips on how to take care of their skin. Include a link at the bottom of your email to your sales letter page. Just dont give away the farm.

The purpose is to establish credibility and instill confidence in your subscribers that you're a respected provider of valuable information, in most of the emails, so that when you do recommend something, your recommendation will carry a lot of weight with your subscribers because they trust you. There's not so much point in building lists without that being the specific objective.

Again, Anton, the fundamentals are explained here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6123982

By giving them information about skincare which (a) they didn't know before reading your email (there's no point in trying to palm them off with information freely available online: they found all that before they found your site and they've heard it from other people whose lists they're also on!), and (b) they're pleased to know after reading your email. This enhances your credibility and makes them trust you. This is the point of the exercise. This is how people decide from/through whom to buy.

It all ties in with a continuity-process which starts before they opt in, and is reinforced by whatever you send them by return in exchange for their email address at the moment of the opt-in: that's where you get the chance to set their expectations.

The people who fall at that hurdle are the ones who expend all the energy afterwards, trying to convince themselves that "a 20% open-rate is normal in the industry" - and it's pretty hard work convincing yourself of stuff like that when there are also so many people around whose experience is so radically different from that! - (in other words, they screwed up ... and then a few of them even come back a few months later and start off threads with titles like "Maybe list-building doesn't always work so well, after all"!!).

In addition to the great advice already given above, don't feel like you have to "write" something every few days...For example, you could create some cool skin care videos and send them a link to a different video every week.

Mix it up and have fun with it.

Give free reports away, create a blog and mail when you make new post ever few days. Its a way to keep them happy, and you can promote stuff on the blog. It can also be used for more traffic.

    1. I will give them some tips.
    2. I will give them a chance to ask question and i will send the answer through email.
    3. I will them how my product will help them.
    4. Create a story line and send email according to story line that you create. Do a series story. Do not send free ebook as you want them to read email often.

Don't forget that the information that you send to your list, and the products you promote can be related to your topic.

    Take your skin care example.

Well everything you send them doesn't have to be about skin care.

an email on skin care can take you into hair care
or into sun tanning and how that affect the skin
or into make up and how that affects the skin
then from make up you can promote some beauty products.

You can tell your list, "Did you hear how organic make up products are better for your skin?"

"Oh and since we are talking organic, here are the best organic food products that benefit your skin."

Then once you are on that topic you can mention some great recipe books.

Or you can talk about skin care for men, and then promote a grooming/style tips for men so women notice them product.

So there are a variety of ways that you can start with your original topic and branch off a bit. but not too much.

Make sure that whatever you promote is at minimum complimentary to your topic.

basically you start with your main topic and you can start branching off from there, as long as you don't go too far off.

You can simply send them skin care tips every once in a while. And in the end of every post, you can promote your own products. Some times also giveaway stuff to make your relationship with your list even better. There are virtually unlimited ways you can do all that. Hope that helps.
