Some advice on monetizing

INTERNET MARKETING

I have a site that I really like, Submit Articles - Article Directory - Find Articles and I'm getting around 100 articles submitted per day, that I have to approve or reject. Takes some time!

The site receives around 2000 uniques per month, but only earning 1 cent per day from Adsense.

I'm considering trying to get income from people who submit articles, either by charging per article or a small annual membership fee that would allow people to post unlimited articles.

Most of the traffic for some reason comes from India!

Any advice would be appreciated.

Collect their emails when they sign up to post their articles.

Send follow-up offers that are of interest to them (I'm guessing most are internet
marketers themselves, so start with those.)

Cash affiliate checks.

yeah, use it to build a list and most likley groups are seo experts and Imers. You can make a lot of money promoting stuff.

Definitely work on building your list through collecting email addresses. You could surely make more money providing affiliate offers, than adsense.

  Thanks guys for the replies. I'll start building a list from 6142 email addresses and find something to sell! I have Amazon and Clickbank and Linkshare accounts but in 6 months from a number of sites have made zilch from them.

It seems like you haven't tried using affiliate marketing yet for your site. Affiliate marketing is a very popular practice on the Internet. You just have to find suitable affiliate programs, or join affiliate marketplaces and networks.
List of popular affiliate marketplaces and networks: Commission Junction, ClickBank, Azoogle Ads & Link Share.
There are also other ways you can apply to monetize your site.
You can use widgets that let you monetize your website.

The main question is always from where the traffic is coming from. It makes a huge difference if you receive traffic from let's say china or from the us.

Maybe you take a look on our program. We pay twice a month and i'm sure you will receive more than with your adsense account.

The idea of having an annual premium fee to gain exclusive offers, such as unlimited article posting, auto-approval of articles, or access to an exclusive page sounds awesome as it is. Maybe you should try and implement that for a set period of time, and see how it affects your site. You'll never know unless you try. Good luck man!

Yes, I agree with warriors who mentioned about building a list and then pitching affiliate products to them now and then. Adsense of 1 cent is not worth it and your energy could be focused elsewhere like the list idea.

I would think very carefully before charging to submit articles, or having an annual fee. Unless there's some advantage that your site is providing that no other one does, or if you can show that paying is going to translate into more money, I think that would kill your site's traffic. (Especially if it's coming from a poor country like India.) I'd explore the affiliate options given above before even considering charging the people who are contributing content to your site.
