This Is One Thing I'm Doing Different In 2013...

Hello again fellow warriors!

As 2013 gets closer, I'm really starting to get excited about all the possibilities the new year will bring. I'm reviewing the things I did this year and looking to learn from my mistakes. To that end the one thing I'm going to do different is...

Build And Follow A System

This system will tell me step-by-step what I need to do to be productive in my business. Systems are one of the reasons that you hardly ever hear of McD or BK failing.

If one part of the system fails or changes, I'll change that process. No more flavor of the month working; I'm going to be consistent and steady.

What about you? Do you have systems in place that you follow for success?

I agree with your idea about system.

    My system is easy.

    1. Set product, website and all things that essential for my business.
    2. Create get traffic plan.
    3. Take action
    4. If in one week, i have poor result, i change my traffic plan.

Being more specific than a system, a plan of action. So many people say "okay I'm going to do some backlinking today". They may spend hours throwing their link all over the place but won't be making efficient use of their time.

You want to plan your time. "I'm going to do abc for 3 hours and then at 12:30, I'm going to do xyz". And stick to it!

I'm actually fleshing out my planned system right now. I'm creating a mind-map to show the different steps I need to to take.

I benefited greatly from a webinar that Roger and Barry put on this week showing how they built their business. After seeing that, it made perfect sense.

The webinar Barry and Rodger did showed me two things one how to find hungry buyers, most people just say find a niche with hungry buyers and never show you how now I can do it myself. The other thing was how the tech stuff gets you hung up. That is my problem, I get lost trying to do what some people call easy.

They did a good job explaining that.

Tride and true mehtods that have always worked and still works. A lot of the old school business practices still work in today's digital world.

Ya also need to recognize when it's time to stop, regroup, and change direction when a plan is not working. There is so many ways to make money online (cliché!).

Awesome thinking. Once a person starts thinking systematically, the growth of a certain niche will certainly be going nowhere but up. Thank you for sharing, as I might implement this systematical way of improvement to myself.

    Well good luck for 2013.

Just make sure that enthusiasm is still as strong on Feb 11th....March 13th and June 26th when the evaluation of a previous year starts to fade. Keep that system alive and why not keep us updated .....maybe we can keep you on track??

Great to hear you are going for it though! Keep it up

    All the best

Thank you. You can be the best (fill in the blanks) but if you don't have a system, you can't persist and you can't be consistent. It's all about system building and SUSTAINABILITY.

oooh oleskool, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who gets hung up on 'easy' tech stuff. Bought that cover maker pro that was on special here a while ago and couldn't get it to show the right hand toolbar. Then my son came home and adjusted the size of everything on the screen and hey presto! it now works. Love dem geek sons, lol

Writing out your processes is very illuminating. You can then see what needs to be cut out and improved.

The real key, which I've had a lot of trouble with, is getting yourself out of the business.

I definately have systems in place. Systems and processes are what allow me to produce repeatable results, and are what allowed me to take myself out of my business.

One thing when you start setting up your systems and processes is there will be actions that are one-off actions, or actions that you only do once, for example, download Roboform softare. That is a one off action. Those are actions that you don't need to create systems out of (obviously) but you do want to track those on a to-do list of some sort.

And then you will have repeatable actions that you will do over and over again, for example, uploading videos to youtube.

When you upload a video to youtube you go through the same process again and again, and again. For those what I done was put those kind of repeatable actions into a checklist.

Also what you will find is when you have repeatable actions, they usually are in a group, sometimes a group of 3 - 8 action steps.

So looking at uploading a youtube video, you want to make sure you have your keywords, fill in the description, add any links, add annotations for your video, etc. Those group of actions will form your "Upload Youtube Video Checklist"

Then the next time you upload a video you just pull out that checklist and quickly get it done. And even better is when you start hiring outsourcers you just give them the checklist and tell them to follow it step by step and that is how they upload your videos to youtube.

And that is how you start to take yourself out of your business. Now you have your outsourcers uploading your videos to youtube and you don't have to do that.

So you want to find as many of these areas in your business where there are repeatable actions that you can put into a checklist, or a process list and these become your systems.

And the more of those you have, the more parts or systems of your business you can hand off to an outsourcer.

If you haven't done so, I would recommend that you pick up Michael Gerber's book "The Emyth Revisited"

It is such a great book on how to setup systems, and how to setup your business so it can run without you.

I have certainly heard of it for years, but haven't gotten around to reading it. I'll make sure I had it to my must read list.

In all seriousness you need to have a certain degree of trust with your employees, even if they may be in another country

When you don't know what your doing its hard to follow a system, I bet most of the people on here don't follow any type of system.

If you are trying to be efficient you always need to have a system in place and break things down in small, manageable parts that can be passed on to somebody to save time elsewhere in your day to day activities.

    Hi Reg,

Hopefully 2013 year would be our year...

My dad always use to tell me ... Only those people can become rich in life who can make systems. Once you know how to make a system, there is no stopping you..

In 2013 I plan on not getting distracted, and follow one system/modal.... I have started working on the system now...

Lets hope we can stay focussed....

    thanks

Congratulations for understanding that you need a perfect business plan if you want to succeed online. It really is indispensable if you don’t want to waste time and money without having the results you desire.

I created a simple business plan for my business, and it seems to be working fine.

I’m giving more information and detailed explanations to the public instead of repeating many things and instead of giving only a brief idea of my work.

My field is totally different from internet marketing, while I was imitating the behavior of internet marketers, thinking that this behavior was ‘necessary’.

So, in 2013 I will follow my own original business plan, which was created based on my experience working online for six years and fits with my business, instead of following the plans I was following before, which were made for other types of businesses.

What I will be working on in 2013 is keeping better records
of my marketing activity. This will help me stay focused and
not get sucked into the "busy work" vortex. With forum
marketing, sometimes, I get side tracked from spending under
30 min per forum, especially here at WF.

I will tell you what my system is going to be for 2013.

I am already having success with a company called Empower Network.

Instead of promoting a few programs at a time, I am going to send all my visitors to a web page that will talk only about that program only. When I reach a curtain monthly income, I will then add more programs to my site and build more residual income.

I will not give my website visitors at this time.

2013 will be my year to breakthrough and earn more then $10,000 per month in residual income. I am putting all this out to the universe so that it knows what my intentions are.
