I have bought many WSOs and not really commented on any....good or bad...

I also hate asking for refunds..

But how important are reviews to you? Do you buy a WSO based on a bucket load of reviews? Do you buy it because it is WSO of the day and so many people are raving about it?

What determines your decision?

Personally, I buy it if I think I can find some golden nuggets of information.

I don't buy WSOs. I'm here to make money not spend it. All the information I need is freely available.

True is life, however sometimes we need guidance or tools to find what it is we are looking for.

For those who don't, we can only assume they have found everything they need to know and have already achieved everything they initially set out to achieve...

      LOL

I hope we don't get those kind of comments.

I happen to be a WSO Junkie to say the least..!

Most of the stuff is gold to me.

Without the summary, it was almost guaranteed. And I could probably have named a few of the posters for each viewpoint in advance. It's a recurring theme.

        They may still show up.

If most of your purchases are working for you, keep using the standard you're using now to choose.

        Paul,

At the head of every thread, why don't you just post a summary of all the posts you have seen on that topic over the years?

It would save a lot of old-timers from having to post the same opinions and arguments over and over again.

Of course, you would never do that for at least two reasons:

        1. New people are coming to the forum every day and they are going to ask their questions without first researching the topic; and
        2. Old-timers are often the members that have the best perspective on IM problems and solutions so we don't want to lose their input.
        3. What a waste of your time that would be.
So what are we left with?

        Business as usual.

Some testimonials are real, others aren't.

I am a WSO seller and I can say it's not easy to get testimonials. Some people contact us to say that they're making money and ask for help to increase their profits, but when we ask them to post testimonials with proof of income, 90% don't do anything, 9% post testimonials and 1% post testimonials with proof of income (video or even screenshots, although these seem to be easy to fake nowadays).

Some people use only real testimonials and others prefer to get some fake ones to flood their threads with people saying that their methods do work. Anyway, it's hard to tell what's real and what's not. IMO, the testimonials should be taken into consideration, but shouldn't be enough for you to make your decision.

However, there is one thing you definitely should do: to be smart.

Read the sales letters carefully and always ask yourself the following questions:

    * Does the sales letter seem to be honest? Or is it full of hype?

    * These guys leaving testimonials, do they seem to be real customers?

    * What's the reputation of the seller? Is this guy someone who really knows something or just someone who was newbie yesterday and now is trying to sell a product?

Also, keep in mind that some WSOs may have valuable information, but not necessarily something that will skyrocket your profits overnight and turn you into a millionaire. I still buy some WSOs, because I think they can give me good ideas and show me different techniques, but I don't expect to double my income tomorrow, I just expect to learn something that will help me improve my business in the long-term.

So, answering your question, yes, do take the testimonials into consideration, but don't use only them to make your final decision. Be smart, analyze the products and sellers and make your decision based on your reasearch.

Whether it can be useful for my business and perhaps to learn something new. I like free WSOs, though, and who could blame me? But I bought two recently. I have yet to review them carefully. They looked like something I would benefit from.

I think Paul Myers hit the nail on the head There will be lots of opinions about this - and it boils down to doing what you want to do about a WSO and whether it fits your current business model.

I would say - if it doesn't fit what you are doing NOW then don't consider it.

I buy a WSO if it could be helpful for me or my readers.

Very often it's junk and I just book it as expense.

Sometimes a WSO is really good. Then I make a comment in the WSO thread and also recommend it to my customers.

Everybody reacts differently, a lot of people would buy it because "joe" said it's great while others might just like the shiny wrapper.

Most WSO's can be bought for the price of lunch money and consumed in the time of a dinner break. There's a lot of value in some of these info books, even if some of it could be found for free (after searching through crap for 2 hours). If it saves you time then its worth it in the long run.

Instead of writing a review for a WSO, write a review on yourself. Judge yourself on whether or not the purchases you are making are helping you and your business. If you end up with a bad review, make changes.

I believe that leaving an honest review helps people to make a decision. Not really me though. I normally only buy a WSO when I am looking for specific information or a specific tool or piece of software/plugin that I need and then I normally buy from people's signatures that I've come to know and trust in the WF. It's rare that I am unhappy with a WSO purchase.

I don't even read the first one or two pages of a WSO that has just launched and has a lot of reviews already. If you want to see if a WSO is crashing and burning, read the reviews from the last page first to forward. Discount the reviews on the first page.

I buy WSO to learn a new thing.
Usually i will wait for a few days before buying any WSO after its launch. If there are bad review, i will skip that WSO.
