The best way to build a list?

Hi Warriors,

This 2013 year, I will be focusing hard on building my list with highly responsive and targeted subscribers.

My goal will be to gain at least 15,000 subscribers this year.

Besides Solo ads and Google Adwords, what is the best way to build a highly responsive and targeted list?

Thank you for your responses in advance!

Happy holidays : )

You're shooting for 40 subs a day. I'm guessing you're going to want to get a bit of organic traffic coming back into your site? I mean, if you want highly responsive and targeted subscribers, organic traffic seems the way to go.

My question to you is, can you rank in your niche within the year?

    Media Buys...

If you use SEO you are limited to the number of searches the keyword gets. I'm not saying that SEO is not good but it its not scalable being that it you are only limited to the search volume of the keyword.

I recommend media buys because you can expand and scale beyond the limites of SEO.

The best way to build a list besides the traffic thing is to focus more on the response of the leads. No need for a huge list to earn some solid returns.

    50 Sales at 1k = $50,000...

Focus more on the "people" rather than the number.

    Hope that helped!

You can use a WSO to give away a free product. Make a back-end sale with
a good product at a very low price, and you'll make back enough to pay for the WSO.
Then you get all the opt-ins and the ad pays for itself. Run a few WSO's so you
can alternate the free offers you have.

    Hello willisk,

In order to build a list I would create a blog with high quality posts in order to pre-sell and of course I would concentrate on capturing emails with an extremely valuable free gift as an exchange! After that, I would concentrate on building relationship with my subscribers in order to take advantage of them in long term. I believe that if you understand how to build a solid relationship then you can simply make money from the same people.

    Thank you,
    Zouras

The best way to build a list is been different from all other product sellers. Brand yourself first and then create a hight quality product that people want. Give them free value infromation so they want to opin to know more about you. Do not sell junk to them all the time. Build relationship so they can trust your words and the products you sell.

I've found it easier to spread your traffic out over quite a few different areas

Some of the places i use to build my list are:

    IM blog
    forums
    warrior forum articles
    youtube
    the odd ad swap
    solo ads
    bit of ppc

15,000 subscribers is not that hard, I think you are looking at about 40 subscribers per day. If you have the funds, running a free WSO here would give you quite a few subscribers.

Well, if you are a beginner I imagine you don't know how to create a product, right?

meaning you can't generate affiliates to promote your offer since..there's no offer.

Don't overwhelm yourself, start small think big.

Start by helping folks in forums on your niche and add a little blog posting and try one solo ad.

Just one, see if you like it.

There are so many traffic sources out there so I say, If you don't like one, DON'T DO IT.

there's really no point at not loving what you do so do what you love.

You can follow the following steps -
    1. Add a subscribe option on your company’s Facebook page
    2. Offer a free downloadable tool
    3. Have the subscribe button present on all your web pages
    4. Catch subscribers at check-out
    5. Use the “forward to a friend” feature
    6. Make it easy for readers to sign up
    7. Provide samples of your newsletters and Ezines
    8. Archive past newsletters and articles
    9. Give gifts subscribers can actually use
    10. Add a squeeze page

What's your niche? the methods will change depending on the niche. But as already listed

    Solo ads
    Youtube
    Forums

    - basically anyway where you can connected with mass audiences.

JV giveaways are also very good if you plan to do IM. Especially if you host your own...

If your aim is an IM list, think sales funnels. A decent conversion rate on an upsell and/or downsell (simple funnel) can generate enough to fund your traffic. Focus on testing to get your front end freebie converting nicely, then get your paid products converting on top of that. Get both right and you'll be all set.

Build another funnel (or several more) and you'll easily build a list that big. Treat it like a business and TEST TEST TEST. Solo ads will do the trick in this niche. WSO's can be very good, too, but you need to set up a funnel and cultivate some relationships with good affiliates.

    It's a great goal for 2013! I can't think of a better one.

To build subscriber, you need to do everything from blogging to buying traffic.
Fast way to build subscriber is using paid method like PPC and solo ads. While finding subscriber, use current subscriber to make money. Use that money to support your SEO

I heard YouTube works good for list building. I havent tried it much myself, but just make a video teaching a tip and then tell them about your squeeze page.

    Good luck

Sounds like you are getting a lot of responses on how to get more traffic, so I'll go a different route with my response.

For myself, I've found that you can do a lot with a little bit of traffic providing the opt-in page is highly optimized. Giving people too many possible things to do leads them to taking no action a lot of the time.

And of course, the "bribe" must be compelling enough for people to want to give up their email. There are many strategies here, even the elusive "don't miss out on the free upcoming course in March"...

Like Frank Kern says, tell them what you are offering, with main benefit in headline and other features in bullets and short paragraph below, and tell them how to get it and make it easy. Redirect to the offer right away (and arguably turn off double opt-in). Then, depending what you are selling, give them "results in advance". Get them closer to the result (in steps perhaps) to get them closer to "giving you money".

I use different traffic methods according to the niche that I am targeting.

Are you just building one niche or multiple?

How are you going to monitize you list?

FOCUS is key! So I advice you to go with different traffic sources, but focus most of your time on just a couple of them ...YouTube video marketing and Syndication are my BEST so far

If you want to focus on one strategy, it better be paid traffic. But if you don't have a huge budget for this, then spread your net as wide as you can afford (financial and time investment).
        Sources to consider:
article syndication, guest blogging, seo, social media (get people to "like" or share your page/free-offer on facebook or tweet it, before proceeding to the download page and it can even go viral, etc...

I think the best way is by creating an ebook and give it away in exchange for their names and email addresses. Nothing appeals more to a prospect than a freebie

If you can, after they opted in for the freebie, bring them to a sales funnel so that you can generate some sales. In that way, you are building your list and making sales at the same time.

As for driving traffic to your squeeze page, you can pay for cheap traffic if you want faster results. But, if you prefer organic traffic, then implement free traffic methods. It may take a long time, but the results would be better.
