1 cool thing you would tell a new E-marketer

Hey everyone I'm Steven, and I'm excited to be a new addition to the warrior forums. I recently just started getting into the marketing business and I'm learning so much everyday. I'm really having fun with it.

After 3 months I made my first sell and earned a grand total of 50$! It Isn't much, but it was a big first step for me and needless to say, I threw my own mini celebration

With that said, I would love to learn anything I can from the more experienced guys up here. Any links to helpful content, guides, or flat out advice that I could start devouring would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

So.. if you could tell a newbie 1 thing.. what would it be?

Start to build a list on day 1.

There are many threads in this forum with titles like "What's The One Thing You'd Do Differently If You Were Starting Again Tomorrow?". Take a look through a small sample of them, and you'll find that one of the things they all have in common is that they're full of replies from long-established, successful Warriors almost all of whom give the same answer: the thing they'd do differently, with what they know now but didn't know when they started, is "start to build a list on day 1". There are reasons for that.

Start doing your research and look at putting out your own product or service. In the meantime, build a list related to what you want to promote, something you are interested in.

  • Thanks for the replies guys I really appreciate them. I already started building a list for my niche and readive been reading some really good copywriting books so I can start sending offers along with some good information. One question though, as of right now my list is reltively small. I was wondering if I should start sending info and offers right away as opposed to waiting until my list reached a number. Would like to hear your thoughts on that.

I didn't build a list for quite some time and it was the biggest mistake I made. BUILD A LIST is the best advice you can get. Listen to Alexa and get your autoresponder today. Its $1 for the first month.

Pick one system that you resonates with you and that you find success with and stick with it. Do not keep going from one thing to another. A great start to accomplish this is to ignore guru emails.

Allot only around 10% of your time to reading stuff about IM and then spend the rest actually doing something. If you read something only implement it if it relates directly to your project. Focus on something until you have gained success at it and then worry about branching out: if at all.

"Nobody fails at Internet marketing. People just quit before they find success..."

Never give up, and always take MASSIVE action in whatever you do.

    Good luck

I'd say like Flavor Flav "don't believe the hype"... all the time (lots of liars and scammers)... but sometimes it's REAL
Also, stick to just one thing... it's easy to spread yourself too thin and jump on new things regularly. Get really good at doing a lot of the "steps" yourself that way you aren't waiting on an outsourcer to "fix" something in a pinch.

While it's possible to get rich and be "fake" I think that going at it with integrity, honesty, and transparency and really hard work (take massive action) you will go very far and sleep good at night.

Read Google Webmater information if SEO is your thing and don't do anything to get you in hot water with Google.

Stay consistent for 90 days minimum then the efforts will be well worth it. Listen to audio daily of successful people and "model" their habits.

Create multiple streams of income when the time is right.

"Hustle" for money on eLance on occasion for extra "test money" for advertising.

P.S. Remember the "feeling" of the $50 and "create" that feeling anytime you get discouraged...

    Congrats on your first sale!

I would go back to what made you that $50. It sounds weird but the truth is if you duplicate what has already worked for you you increase your chance of success dramatically.

One thing that stopped me from acheiving success a little early is that I would do something that worked and then move on to the next thing.

Rather than focusing on what already worked for me I went on to pursue other things. Which was dumb...Once I made a nice chunk of change with a CPA strategy and then all of a sudden i thought that i was ready to expand beyond what i had done.

That was the dumbest thing that i ever did because it took me a year plus to break through again. Had i stuck with what worked and make some money i would have come to the road of success much faster.

So to answer your question bro just go back to what earned you that $50 and duplicate it and scale it up. If it can be scaled a duplicated do that.

Note taken. Tracking is something I really need to work on. Thanks.

I like that insight and I can resonate with you on that one. I made that sell from sending forum traffic to an affiliate website but now I'm looking to start sending traffic to my own. So its inevitable that I branch out and start working with different things.

Keeping what you said in mind, I will frequently visit that forum.
