Non-IM Product Launches -- Did you ever do one of those?

Hey guys,

Have any of you done a non-IM internet product launch before?

If yes, I'd love to hear your experiences and know what approach
you took, etc.

If you've released more than one non-IM products so far, do you
have a launch at all or do you just "roll em out"?

Thanks in advance,
Dean.

I think these were all offline launches?

I wanted to know specifically about non-IM niche product launches
      done on the Internet.

As in an offline business or an internet product not in the IM niche?

If the latter, my main income comes from non IM related products

I've done a bunch of non-IM launches. The strategy is no different than an IM launch.

I take that back, there is one difference - you don't have to give $17,852 worth of value to sell a $47 product.

    I have.

Just used the same process as you often see in IM.

Prelaunch squeeze page, prelaunch blog, countdown timer, get people involved in the blog, give away some free copies for best comments or the like. Release teaser videos/audios/chapters/graphics as launch approaches.

What I have never done, is an IM niche launch. (in the process of one though)

I think if they launch with internet, that will call IM because they would marketing the products with internet.. just my 2cents

floodrod, can you elaborate on the "recruiting" part a bit? How and where
did you find your affiliates/JV partners?

Ron and Charlie, what's the best way to go if we're not really interested in
doing a launch but rather just want to release the product and build up
affiliates and sales at a steady rate over time?

I didn't really have any JV partners to start. I just posted on 2 webmaster message boards like this one, and my own site get's 140,000 uniques a month which probably attracted some affiliates.

Lots of customers also strated promoting, and some actually got pretty good at it. Since launch, had a few JV's, but none really worked out good in that niche
