To the person who mentioned Bob Parsons' elephant killing, I was angry with him for that too.

This could be bogus, but he seemed to have a very well thought out justification; the elephants he has hunted, he claims were ones that had ceased living in the wild, and were destroying the food crop of a desperately poor village.

The people were literally depending on that food to survive; they weren't going after the elephants in the wild, but hunting them among the crop. Then, when they killed one, the entire village shared the meat. I'm an environmentalist (who isn't these days?), and a veg who takes no pleasure in animals being shot, but in this case, it appears Bob wasn't out trophy hunting.

The picture of him posing on the dead elephant carcass was in poor taste to say the least. But he claims to have a long standing bond between himself and that village, and the smile on his face may have had more to do with celebrating the good fortune of the people getting rid of a threat to their crop while getting some much needed protein, than gloating over the death of the animal.

PS: Some of the hate messages for Bob suggested with all his money, he could have just bought food for them instead of killing an elephant to save the crops. I don't think that is a viable solution; traditional cultures don't do well with their traditional way of life replaced by charity. The suggestion is patronizing to say the least.

Not this exact one. However I googled 99 cent domain names and godaddy had a top ad that worked and I got a url yesterday for 99 c.
