I just sold one of my websites some days ago for about 300$ (PR 1) with about 100-200 visitors per day (.org) and i have choose about 30 days of running and i got a bit in the 20 th day. So either you are very confident and you add a 3 day listing, either you add the max 30 days.

Extend it to 30 days and try to get some actual traffic, rankings,
earnings...something....in the mean time. I have a hard time believing it's going to sell
as is. I probably sound like a jerk here, but you're going to be out your $29 listing
    fee as it stands.

    Good luck,
    Jeremy

I have always went for 3 days with my auctions and had decent success with it. I'd never list a site for more than three days if it has no traffic or revenue.

I have also had 1 day auctions, too bad they don't allow it anymore.

When I've listed I use 7 day auctions. The majority of the buyers on Flippa have a small attention span. They tend to bid in the last day or two and I think it's likely that a lot will move on to new listings or lose interest in a listing that runs for 30 days.

That's exactly what I do. I also set them up to end on a Wednesday or Thursday. I've found (and heard from others) that people are more distracted earlier and later in the week. I've only had one expert say that he ends his on Monday's.

    5-7 days should be fine.
@sbucciarel is right, people are often bidding on the last moment.

I always do 3 days because most people wait until the last day to start bidding anyway. They wait for it to scroll across that Ending Soon page. Now if your site is making money, you should stretch it out a bit longer because people will find your listing in the Flippa search results.

It really, really depends on the kind of website you're selling. We now suggest a listing duration based on the stats you enter during the listing creation process. This duration is based on the optimal duration we've seen for sites similar to yours. For some listings, that's going to be 30 days; for others, as Suzanne points out, it's closer to 7.

It depends on how many days you want it to run.... It's up to you and not up to flippa..

My experience has recently changed with auction durations. Previously I would not let an auction go longer than 7 days, because it is true that most buyers only look at the auctions ending soon.

However something happened at my last auction that has forced me to change my view some-what. I had an auction running for a website that I thought might go for $499 - so I set the buy it now at $499 - and then had the reserve set to at least cover my costs. I had it set for 7 days and sure enough bidding took off on the last couple of days. It did not hit $499 - but it did get to $200 and I was happy with that. However the buyer never paid. So after weeks of going through the complaint process to get my fees back, I decided to put the auction back up and just let it sit there for 30 days. I was really not expecting much, because when you re-up an auction like that flippa weighs it down w/ links back to the previous auction. I've never had a good experience trying to resell a website when flippa links it to a previous auction. So I put it up for 30 days just expecting it to be a waste of my refunded fees. However on about the15th or 16th day a buyer came along and used the buy it now without any other bidding at all.

I'm now considering putting up more of my auctions with a 30 day time frame. Because not all buyers hang out on flippa - in fact some buyers don't even make it back to flippa once a week. I'm definitely going to experiment more with it.

I do use 30 day listings. However, the problem with these is that they do become forgotten, as people who shortlist your site may lose interest or simply forget as the days drip along.
