Setting up members area on site?

I'm going to sell a product and I want to give paying customers access to videos and pictures. Obviously, I only want paying customers to have access. How would I set that up on the same domain as the sales page? Thanks.

I am using OptimizePress and WishList Member to set up my membership site.

It is very easy to set up and works perfectly well.

Couldn't agree more. Also check out S2member if your budget is tight.

You still using DAP? I like it and I was about to upgrade to multi-license BUT I'm a little unsure, because I've heard they have a new product or something? You know anything about this?

DAP is still going strong. They don't have a new membership site product. You might have heard about a new update or something but they release new updates periodically throughout the year so it's very well supported and new features always coming.

        Hi Tris,

Like Will said, DAP is going very strong indeed :-) We recently released v4.4.2 (see release notes) with some very cool features.

We're soon launching an incredible new add-on for DAP called "Credit Store" (CS) which will allow you to sell "credits" to your members, which they can in turn "redeem" for any content of their choice (think Audible.com credits or iTunes store credits).

That's probably what you heard about regarding a "new product".

Feel free to ping me offline if you have any questions or concerns.

        Cheers!

        - Ravi Jayagopal

I didn't know about that but damn, that credit thing will fit in nicely with a new site I am planning.

          Great stuff Ravi.

I have to also just say that these guys are great with their support and will always go out of their way to help.

      Is this a free option?

Isn't there a way just to password protect the members area?

Hey man, DAP is not free and quite expensive ($167) but since it has affiliate area and content dripping + some more options, the price is well worth it.

But if you search there are couple of free membership options which can make a password protected member area for your wordpress blog.

Do I have to manually add each member who is suppose to have access? What is wrong with password protecting the page? Thank you.

If it's just download pages that you want to secure then try wp file lock

I use wp file lock for all of my wso's and it works really well and is compatible with warrior plus, jv zoo, digi results and normal paypal buttons
