25 dollars for a customized binder? It's nuts.

I was looking around and a lot of sites want like 25 dollars for a customized binder. Plus the cost of shipping to you. You can buy a regular binder from staples for like 5 bucks. I just don't get why they're so high. It's nuts.

Does anyone know any companies that specialize in binders, or informational product binders and packaging? So you provide the content and they package it nicely into a course? Something like that?

Shop around a bit more and try to find a good bulk discount rate. If this is for your previous threads $2k course I wouldn't bother skimping on the quality. Decent customized binders and thick quality paper will go a long way in validating a purchase once it is in someones hands.

SURE you can buy *******A********* "regular" binder from staples for about $5. SOME cost over $10!

WHERE is it bound? SPINE, or one side? (One may cost more)
WHAT KIND of binding? Ring, wire, etc? (Rings tend to cost more)
WHAT KIND of ring? TRADITIONAL or CARDINAL? (cardinal may cost more)
How thick is it? (thicker costs more)
What KIND of cover? (thicker tends to cost more)
    WHAT KIND of customization options?
    What kind of hinge?

What kind of inserts did you want? The cost for just materials and primary processing on that used to typically START at about $3! Labor, cutting, special materials, etc... could TRIPLE the cost. HEY, 1.5" hard cover, full color non gloss inserts, right THERE could cost over $16! Put in a few full color pages, and get the price up to $25, shipping not included.

They are STILL giving MS this much time? YIKES!

NOTE, these aren't even customizable! Customizing THESE would require silk screening, or labels!

What you're looking for is a fulfillment partner.

They'll help you put the master package together, printing, media (cd/dvd), entrapments, art, etc.

Then, you route orders through your cart to them for manufacture and drop-shipment to the customer.

I buy CD binders from Polyline USA (www.polylinecorp.com) and customize them with a cover that slips right in after I print it off.

      http://www.polylinecorp.com/itemview.asp?OPT=DSC12B-48

I get a case at a time, which are $94 plus shipping for 48, so that works out to about $1.95 each, plus the printable inserts and the hole-punched sleeves.

This is the sort of thing most infomarketers use unless they are shipping hundreds of units a month.

They look pretty spiffy in black, kind of tacky in white...

Are you serious? I've done customized binders/packaging for hundreds. $25 for custom work for a binder is chump change. Go buy one for $5 and get a pack of crayons and scribble on it if you think $25 is too much.

I figured out a solution. Go staples cheap for now until I got steady orders. Then I found a company that will create custom binders for about 13dollars each. Or if I start doing regular business I'll just order a bunch of 100 or something for cheap.
