I'm working on a very profitable niche and I think I've found a premium domain name. However, the domain name is take, of course, but the plural of the domain is available.

here's an example:

drinkmilk.com is taken

but www.drinkmilks.com is not

should I register the www.drinkmilks.com even though the "s" really isn't appropriate?

Thanks in advance for taking time to give a fellow warrior some guidance!

If adding the 's' makes the domain appear foolish it probably isn't worth it. Apart from buyer resistance, you might find it too irksome to put up with.

I suggest adding a small word to the name. Eg,

    DrinkMilkToday
    DrinkMoreMilk
    Drink-Milk
    IDrinkMilk
    MustDrinkMilk
    DrinkMilkOnly
    CanDrinkMilk
    TopDrinkMilkSites
    DrinkMilkForHealth
    LikeToDrinkMilk

I agree. I wouldn't use it if it is similar to the example given. Go to a site like nameboy.com and enter keywords to see what's available.

When you look through domains at a site like nameboy you don't risk someone scooping it on you as happens at some registrar sites if you search without buying immediately.

    Hi,

It all depends what the domain name is and if it looks or sounds daft... to use your example drinkmilks.com to me sounds bazaar but if the domain you are looking at doesnt have a negative effect by making it plural then sure its no problem...

I have a real life example of my own actually that maybe anyone could give thoughts on.... a little while ago I purchased a domain that I thought I had a use for however I have not done anything with it

    The domain is copycatmarketers dotcom

At the time that I bought it the domain copycatmarketer was for sale for a whopping $10,000 !!!!

Does the plural on my domain make mine less valuable ?

again with your question though I think you have to look at whether the (s) has any effect or not in readability of your domain name

    Thanks

Thanks for the advice guys. Kay--I had never heard of nameboy.com. That's awesome and thanks for sharing with me.

Of course the "milk" example was just a bogus example but thanks to you all I've gotten my answers!
