How to test a product? No list, limited budget.

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I would like to rely on your eternal wisdom.

How do you test your products?

PPC is (very) expensive, SEO is very slow, building "authority" in a niche is time- and money-consuming.

Question: How to test a product (let's say, an already good one, but in a new niche) and it's copy within, say, $100-200.
What traffic sources would you use?

Thank you!
Alex

forum marketing within the niche, social media marketing.
Free will always require more work, time is money.

It also depends on whether you want to do the work yourself and reap all the profits, or have others market the product for you. Usually at the cost of a hefty percentage of the price if its a digital product, less of a percentage but probably equal amount of the profit margin for physical products.

JV partnerships may be what you want to look into, just be careful of getting the short end of the stick

Plus, if you "already have a good one" why do you need to test it?

you can try some cheap PPC advertising, by targetting lower cheaper words, which your target market are interested in, rather than the expensive ones.

Robert, Thanks for the response. I'm not really looking for a free method. Just a low-cost one.
You see, I'm looking for a scalable method to apply to different niches. Hence, I need to test both the product and the niche to compensate for any possible shortcomings in my market research ability.

To form JVs and start well with affiliates I'd like to have numbers ready. Conversions, refunds, EPC, etc. Otherwise I'm risking not to attract anyone. For that I need to test.

Networking_now, Thank you for the advice. Cheaper words usually means that the words are not converting that well, right?
