Question on Marketing a Health Website

Hi all I have a question for you all...

I am a distributor of Health Products and I have a website through the company, I have bought my own Domain name (healthproductforlife.co.uk) and have been trying to get that on google, I went to page 22 and gave up after that as I still couldn't find my site. I have no control over whats on the site as they do all that and don't know what the keywords and SEO would be. So how could I get that site on the first page of google, I have started using backlinks through the usual, Forums, Stumbleupon etc... but still not managed to get it there. I have started setting up a blog with the same name hoping it would help and am considering using Tumblr and Squidoo to maybe help me, but don't want to do all that work if its not going to help. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated, I have also used Fiver and my facebook to promote the site and still not much has happened. I don't even know if there are visitors on the site because I don't know how to look.

With a generic site you have little control over the seo side of things, I would suggest that you focus solely on marketing and nothing else, you need a highly optimized blogging platform , and blog daily, as many time as you like, be active, create you own lcp which is congruant with the company website, send all your traffic there, collect the leads, so you start to build you r list, join forums associated with your niche, and get active there, dont try to do to much to quick, you will get overloaded, then frustrated, and remember any business take time to build, hope some of that helps, the best of luck

No I haven't thought of that as I didn't want to be doing to much at the same time as it would be information overload I think lol

You need backlinks to get ranked. I suggest you pick a particular one or two keywords that is not too competitive you want to rank your health site for and then build links like web 2.0. press release and submit articles to directories.

Also look for blogs in your niche that accept comments or guest post. If the keywords you choose are not too competitive, you should be in first page in no time. In my experience, web 2.0 backlinks is working extremely well this days.

You need to add content to your site. Write articles, and if you can't write then outsource it. Your site is basically SELL SELL SELL

Your visitors want information, talk about anything and everything in your niche.

You need to add at least one article a day to your site until you have several categories with articles linking from one to another. In other words, become an "Authority"

One of the things that I think people forget about when doing SEO for their site is Bounce Rate and how long people stay on your site. If you look at your google analytics you will see these two items. If google thinks it is good for you to know then it is good for them. Why would google want to send people to a site that nobody wants to stay on.

So, buy some PLR and re-write it, write your own articles, buy articles on freelance sites, it does not matter how it just matters that you do it. Get that site full. Give people a reason to stay and you will give google a reason to move you up in the SERPS

    Matt,

You can not rely on the search engines to get you traffic and on to be placed on page 1 of Google.

If I were you, I would start to write articles, post videos on YouTube, join forums and post your link in your signature, buy solo ads.
