Help !...Why Is My Position With The Search Engines Getting Worse ?

Hi all,

Can anyone please help ?.....I hope this all makes sense !

A few months ago I put up handful of websites to promote a
clickbank product. I then did the usual things to promote them,
writing articles, social bookmarking, RSS feeds and pinging etc.

Last week when I did a title/keyword search on google, 3 of the
websites appeared between page 10 and 15 which I thought was
pretty good (for me anyway) LOL

I then decided to promote the highest ranking one which was
on page 10, and left the other 2 alone for the time being. I did
mostly backlinking promotion and piggy backing etc. I used
Ezine Articles, Yahoo Answers, and blogs such as Blogger and
Wordpress etc.

After all that promotional work, the highest ranking one that was
on page 10 has now fallen off the radar - it's no where to be seen
where as the other 2 that I didn't promote in the same way are
still hovering between page 10 and 15 !.....what the heck is going
on here !?

My campaign is going backwords !

Any help would be appreciated.
