Content writers, software, what works best?

I'm curious to learn the opinions of those that need content for their websites, what have you found to be the best source?

I have personally purchased articles from Iwriter, but they were not very good in my opinion, From the quality standpoint.

I do have a need for content mainly in the insurance arena, any thoughts or opinions where I can obtain good quality content for a Reasonable price?

I'm not in a position to invest $30 for each 500 page article.

You might get plr content on the topic from various sites - not mine since I don't have any in that niche. You can ask for a custom topic on some plr sites

Since you want quality content, but you currently don't have the budget to outsource the writing to a ghost writer, then just as Beverley suggested, you may want to consider PLR content as an option.

High Quality PLR content does exist
Yes, there is a lot of low quality PLR content out there. But, there is also high quality PLR content out there.

If you want to make sure you're buying high quality PLR content, a lot of PLR content providers often have samples of their content or some free PLR content. Use that freely available content to help you assess the level of quality to expect from that PLR content provider.

Why PLR Content may be exactly what you're looking for
If you want high quality content but don't want to write the content yourself, and you also don't want to pay a lot, then PLR content may be exactly what you're looking for.

When buying PLR content, it's possible to get high quality content at a low price because the writing costs are shared. The same PLR content is sold to multiple people. So, where the same 1 page of content may have cost $30 if you hired a ghost writer, may only cost you $1 if it was PLR content.

      An Acceptable Disadvantage
But, PLR content has it's own set of disadvantages.

Since the PLR content is sold to multiple people, the content is not unique to you. So, you're going to have to work on the content to create you're own unique version of the content.

But, this should be an acceptable disadvantage. It's unreasonable to expect to buy content that's high quality and unique... and cheap.

Why would a ghost writer put in a lot of time and effort writing high quality content if the customer is only going to pay a little for it?

So, if you're looking for high quality PLR content without paying a fortune, PLR content is a possible solution to your content needs.

I buy my articles from my buddy, his is so good in writing that i urged him to launch a fiverr gig for a start before moving on to creating a site for him.

He is presently on vacation and still have about 7 more days to return to work, i would have PMed you his link. I personally give guarantee and refund for any flop that arise from his part, just to tell you how good he is.

you work best, but if it's up to a content writer VS some wonky article spinner, then,

    Hands down the content writer.

btw, you said iwriter created unsatisfactory content, may I ask what level did you choose?

Basic: All writers will see your request.
Premium: 4 to 5 star writers will see your request.
Elite: 4.6 to 5 star writers will see your request.

I've had nothing but good things to say about iwriter and their premium and elite content.

I chose the highest level the last time I ordered, have ordered several times first time I chose the least expensive, then figured I would try the highest ranked...I rejected/ asked for a rewrite on lat purchase, next one came out better but in my opinion it was poor quality so I had not ordered again from iwriter...after 4 orders I gave up....I did try an article for SEO from someone called vita lee and its more expensive, but Actually pretty good , but they do not have content for my niche, insurance.

I am also disappointed on the service of iwriter, they provided me copy paste articles several times which do not pass copyscape. Now, I write my articles myself. If anyone wants, he/she can request me for articles, hope they will not be unsatisfied seeing my articles.

Their is a right way and a wrong way to do this, the PLR guy (john01a) does it right. He makes his points without selling anything because his sig ties it all together.

LOL! but come on dude really, You're going to set up your lemonade stand here?

Looking at your blog, a lot of your posts are coverage related. If that's the type of article you are looking for, likely it will be too technical for most of the writers you will find on sites like odesk or iwriter.

Even using writers from the Philippines will be somewhat of a challenge for you to use because insurance in the Philippines is slightly different than insurance in the U.S.

If hiring someone with experience in that niche is outside of your budget, another consideration might be to find a claims adjuster with coverage investigation experience who is willing to write for you to supplement their income. They may not write as well as a specialist in this niche, but they will understand coverage, the way policies works and represent potential coverage gaps accurately to your readers.

As both a writer myself and someone who has been around the outsourcing block, so to speak, I can tell you right now that finding an authoritative writer in the insurance niche on your budget is going to be impossible. Frankly, continuing to try and find a writer at iWriter prices is probably a waste of both time and money.

Even at $30 for a 500 word article, you're going to struggle finding a writer with the perseverence to continuously pump out fresh content in that niche. My guess would be that most seasoned writers wouldn't last more than 10 or 20 articles before throwing in the towel. Speaking from (limited) experience, insurance is both difficult and unenjoyable to write about.

Other than debml's very brilliant idea...

Your best bet is writing the content yourself. After that, PLR would may be acceptable, although again you're going to run into quality issues if you're buying cheap.

          Here's my suggestion:

Perhaps you could do the writing yourself, then use your outsourcing budget to automate some other aspect of your business?

There are tons of other things that can be outsourced at a much cheaper rate than writing. For example, data entry, customer service, link building, keyword research, just to name a few.

You could even hire someone to find all your content ideas and then upload the finished articles, which would save you a substantial amount of time... You'd literally only have to worry about the actual writing.

Food for thought. Come back and share if you ever find that magical writer

I am the writer of all content found on my sites...just looking for another source, as it stands I produce 15-25 articles each week...I run an agency, plus I do webdesign and SEO for agents in non competitive areas to my market. I have several employes that build the websites and do the SEO.

That was also my concern, the content you find on my site is technical, not generalized...written by myself. Simply running out of hours in the day to produce content I need.

Great suggestion on the claims adjuster....you in the business? (Few would know that it'd bit of info)

Find a good source, get good content, and reorder from them. Look for good reviews and examples of the work. I advertise my work all over the place but my reviews really help with repeat business I've found and don't charge $30 for a 500 word article either. lol.

Discuss in detail your exact specifications, expectations and requirements with your employees and/or subcontractors. Beyond grammar, spelling and other simple things, overall content quality becomes subjective, especially in the eyes of many writers without expertise in marketing communications and across a lot of content buyers who have different purposes for content. This is why you also need to clarify your main objectives for your content and other specific details about your target readers...

I like to manually rewrite content off the web into something so unique, that no one can even tell it was rewritten. That way, I can save a lot of time on research too, and I can maintain my quality and uniqueness since I'm handling it myself.

You can really save money from outsourcing for articles if you learn to rewrite yourself, which is actually quite simple.
