Morguefile.com free stock photos is pretty good for royalty free pictures.

  I have been using morguefile for many years
  They are a great free source to do examples.
  Or for the cheaper clients.
  
  Always show your clients the difference between these free images and high quality
  paid for images.
  
  This will assure them that you are advising them professionally.
