If you are looking for prospects to come to your site and hopefully buy what ever you are selling there then you need to learn everything you can about marketing online.

You need to learn how to use:

    PPC.
    Article marketing
    video marketing
    Forum marketing
    Solo ads
    Banner ads.

Just because you have a website with affiliate links in it does not mean that they will come to you in some magical way. Mastering online marketing is the best way to go. It is a very important skill for anyone to learn how wants to make huge money online.

Something I'm going to really implement this year is buying banner ads on sites.

THIS IS HOW I'M GOING TO DO IT.

log in to adwords keyword tool and enter your niche keyword. Example: (broiled crab legs recipe)

find keywords that get more than 3500 local monthly searches click on the drop down arrow next to the keyword and then click the google search link.

that will bring up the websites that rank for that keyword. Look for blogs and forums sites, stay away from authority sites unless you have a big budget.

contact the site owner (whois is maybe needed for this) and let them know you are interested in purchasing ad space on there site.

you may have to send more than one email to get a response back from the site owner.

also check out a site called xmarks it shows you what site people are bookmarking in your niche.

There are many ways of driving traffic to your affiliate site, Facebook ads, PPC on major search engines, PPV, Solo ads, even newspaper ads can work amazingly well.

However, I suspect by doing this you will be leaving a huge amount of money on the table. What you are doing is "hit and run" marketing. You are spending your money driving traffic to your affiliate site, and then wither one or two things will happen. They will buy something or they wont.

    Most wont.

Most often people buy things from people or brands they trust in, its make the whole "buying experience" more enjoyable and trustworthy.

    I would suggest this approach.

    1. Create a squeeze page, drive traffic to it and give away something of value, a free ebook concerning the subject matter in question. Straight away you'll gain their appreciation.
    2. Capture each lead and build a list. Deploy auto responders to your list which contain interesting and useful content. This is the "relationship" building process.
    3. After a few weeks, in an auto responder, introduce a product, or website that solves the readers problem. The chances are, now you have built your reputation with your list, they'll buy something from you.

Any successful internet marketer will tell you "the money is in the list!"

If you do the hit and run method you could very quickly burn through a huge pile of cash with little return. This is where a lot of people can go wrong with internet marketing.

    Hope this helps.

Implement what talfighel said.... if you are low on budget you can join forums and start sharing your views. this way you can start driving traffic (through your signature link)

It is slow but effective not to forget it is FREE..

another free mthod is "Yahoo Answers"

you can find Questions about your niche and start answering them and then put the link of your website/blog in the source box.. Its highly targeted traffic all you have to do is put some efforts and start taking serious action ...

    All the best

First think you need to make sure that - what is the niche of your site content?

Now, if you are looking for some free methods, following are the methods -
    1. Social Network Marketing
    2. Forum Advertising and marketing
    3. PPC marketing
    4. Article marketing

Adcenter has lots of traffic that you can get for cheap! I have had a lot of success with them. Then if you want to take it to a whole another level use PPV network and send them to a squeeze page to build a list then sell them from your email auto responder.

That way your not trying to sell them from cold traffic.Cold traffic is much harder to convert and buy building a list first you are also be building a valuable asset that you will have as many times as you want to try to convert it.

One thing I would suggest is using free classified ad sites. There are so, so many, probably hundreds of free classified ad sites on the internet and using them I think can be a very powerful technique for affiliate online marketing, especially for newbies with limited funds. Just do a general search through any search engine on "Free Classified Ad Sites". Your search should return tons of places to submit your ad to. You may even be able to find classified ad sites that specialize in specific affiliate products.
