Get Response / Hotmail

Hey Guys,

Interesting thing I just found out about Getresponse / Hotmail (Might be the same with Aweber) I Imported a campaign and then tested it and it was hitting Spam. I took one of the emails and copied it to another campaign and tested it from there and it worked fine. So it was the NAME of the campaign that was making Hotmail kick it out.

    Hi Jack,

Yes, it could be a factor since the campaign name is part of the sender address and that's one component which HM checks. But it does check a number of factors and those factors influence each other and so, the importance of any single factor depends on each of the others.

    Great share Jack.

I've been looking at the emails I receive from marketers and in particular the ones that end up in Spam as opposed to the ones that get through (from the same sender). I've been trying to see if there are certain keyword patterns etc., so this is a big help!

I also use Hotmail when sending test messages from GR. So far they don't go to the spam folder.

Previously I was using I-Contact and a lot of test messages were going right to spam so I don't know what GR is doing differently but I like it so far.

The campaign name could easily trigger spam. The best thing anyone can do is to work overtime getting their list member to add them to their address book.

For me, it is more important to get added to the address book than it is to make a OTO. I know many feel they need an OTO to pay for the initial cost of some of their solo ads and such but ..

For me, I have enough faith in my back end stuff to be assured my funnel will pay out. My members do not label me another desperate marketer when I show I am interested in making sure my communications reach them instead of hitting them up for money right off the bat.

The money will come as long as I can stay out of the spam folder and make a good enough impression to get future emails opened.
