Something to think about as you decide what to do:

There are threads here on the forum that talk about the downsides to free autoresponders. You can easily do a search and find them. Two of the biggest problems are:

1. They usually "pimp" your emails with one or more of their own ads, and

2. Often times "deliverability" is not good. Reputable, subscription-based autoresponders like aWeber, Constantcontact, and GetResponse will typically increase the number of your emails that actually arrive in your subscriber's inbox.

In addition, these types of services are usually preferable because they give you a lot more options, are easy to use, and can be ramped up if your business really takes off. You usually can't import single-optin subscribers from other services, so it pays to go with a reputable service from the very beginning.

Mailchimp does not allow IM/Make Money Online/Biz ops type of customers. Useless building a list with them if that's what you're going to promote.

I have tried both getresponse and aweber.

Personally I got better delivery rates (inbox rates) with Aweber.

Something to keep in mind though, is as your list grows in size so does the price.

Pricing Structure:

up to 500 -> $19 month

501-2,500 -> $29 month

2,501-5,000 -> $49 month

5,001-10,000 -> $69 month

10,001-25,000 -> $149 month

25,001+ -> Contact them

Congrats, aWeber is a good choice. It's what I use and I have never experienced a problem.

There's a little bit of a learning curve to figuring out all you can do with their service, but it's not hard. Take advantage of their tutorials - they're good and will help alot.

They do have a yearly option which cuts down the price to around $15/month if you don't do tons of mailing.

The best to you in your list building . . .

Aweber also get my vote. I really like the free squeeze page templates from Aweber, which I am sure that the other providers also have this option.

On the comment that its a sliding scale for price, I can`t wait till I need to contact them for pricing for 25,001+.

Yeah, it's a great feeling and totally worth it.

If you can't afford the plan for 25,001+ when you reach that point then you really need to re-think your marketing strategy and business in general.

I believe MailChimp would be cheaper for a beginner, but aWeber delivers better results. ?The unfortunate thing is that with whatever service you'll start you have to continue otherwise you're going to lose most of the lists.
