Ideas for a movie-trailer-type pro voice actor?
Well, last weekend I was at a party and he played some of the funnier outtakes that did not make the cut. Just him ad libbing something totally absurd over the production music. He had bits on a massage parlor, bee sting ointment, dog grooming service....on and on
The whole room was dying from laughter... so of course I think: 'Hmm, this guy is a natural voice talent that can make anything sound interesting and these strangers (mostly) are going totally nuts for it....tearing up from laughing, begging to play it again, asking for CDs, etc.'
Since then I've been brainstorming ways that I could leverage his voice over/improv skills for marketing something. I just don't know what though. I can see his "fake/funny" ads going viral all over Facebook and he seems to have an endless supply of rants for any product.
My gut says a site that featured his ads on the latest amazon (?) products might be the way to go -- maybe youtube videos with product image slides with a jingle and him doing his thing for minute spots? Put in some other ads on the site for other, higher-commission stuff if it indeed does go viral?
This guy could do like 20 spots a day easily with his funny/bizzare ad pitch improv. He has his own vocal booth at home. I don't think one, or even several products is enough fodder to keep making ads though. It would have to be a *lot* of products...
What do you guys think??
