Raising Quick Capital - Launch Jacking?

Hey all

I have been scouring the forum for the past few weeks as I try to learn as much as I can about IM before I start going into it properly. I think I have got the basic's now.

One thing that came to my mind; in terms of raising capital for an online business is launch jacking a good way to do that?

Two things I should point out: obviously I know launch jacking isn't always successful but I see a lot of people can raise money quickly from it if done correctly and, secondly, I know that you can start an IM career with next to no investment other than domain, hosting etc... however having some disposable money at the start surely helps, no?

Anyway, just a thought I had and any feedback or discussion would be great; perhaps you can tell me that I cam completely wide of the mark on this, ha?

  • No matter what you try to do it is hit or miss. The people who make it online keep working until they master a way to make money. You've got to just give it a go.

    • Launch Jacking is great... lots of money in it, to be sure... however, there is a learning curve to it, like just about anything in IM. There is a lot of competition and dozens of new people are trying it with every launch, everyday...

      There are probably only a half-dozen really serious competitors, but there are literally hundreds, if not thousands of people trying it out, every launch.

      So, yes, its a great way to earn money quickly... its also a great way to get very frustrated when you can't duplicate the fast ranking results of the pros.
  • I would say that it can certainly help to have capital once you know what you are doing but when you are starting off you can end up spending money on things that only experience can teach you not to spend money on.

    I have seen various guides/threads etc... related to launch jacking and was wondering what people's opinions were on the domain to use in terms of using a sub-domain or an EMD. Seen a lot of people saying one is better than the other, obviously trying it out is the best way I suppose but getting some experienced feedback is also helpful.

    The reason I ask is that I was thinking in terms of creating a site that reviews upcoming IM products and just using a page from that (xxxx.com/marketingsecretsreviewed, xxxx.com/moneyfast etc...) as the basis to promote the launch as opposed to using a domain called marketingsecretsreviewed.com

    Or does it make a difference at all?
  • Research is your friend.

    Just look at the launches that are going on now. For example Easy Video Suite came out this Tuesdays, so go to google and check what sites are ranking for easy video suite and easy video review and etc. This will give you a lot of valuable information. But remember most of the sites on launch do some google dance so don't base all of it on one launch.

    To be honest, I don't remember seeing top positions with subdomain (except some random .wordpress.com or .blogspot.com) and post/page format works well if you have a authority site for reviews.

    But the problem with launch jacking (especially for big launches is) that some of the pros have tricks and techniques they will not share with anyone until it becomes obsolete. So your best bet is to try to figure out what the best sites are doing, and learning from that.
  • post content around products launches using an aged domain with authority. I usually rank in 48hrs by doing this.
