Safe Swaps Account Suspended... any one else experiencing it?

about ten minutes ago I was logged in my safe swaps account, then suddenly the page says, account suspended! I think the site has a problem because even if if i type safe-swaps.com into the address bar, it still saying account suspended.

Anyone experiencing the same problem??

    Yeah, the site's down. Freaked me out for a bit. After I realised that it was the site and that the $3K worth of solos that I have booked haven't been wiped out by my account being suspended I felt a little better.

    Had to change my shorts though.

          That's what I said above cutting corners for cheaper service but not too the client though... eg I accidentally a while back there cancelled the subscriptio payment in my paypal... I told SS but was told now that you cancelled even if it was for 2 or so hours that your back to square like a newbie no that is one instance of many!! Lost my cheaper price and had to pay the higher one at that point not sure what it is now?

          ... perhaps you should do a bit more work with cPanel before commenting. When any account is suspended running on cPanel it can show that page so if HostGator suspended it in WHM then it would make perfect sense for that to happen. In addition, HostGator could have script setup for that to happen on vps and dedicated accounts as part of their abuse system to stop people from accessing the site. That definitely doesn't mean it was hosted on shared web hosting lol.

    Was just chatting with my coach, and he reckons that this happens fairly regularly with SS and that it often takes at least a couple of hours to half a day to fix.

    This is not too uncommon as the site gets loads of traffic - as stated above it's typically fixed very soon.

    The other day, the site was redirecting to some weird affiliate offer --> I imagine it was hacked and they're sorting it out. Hope all is well!

    I think they either forgot to pay their hosting bill or got complaints. Site will most likely be back up soon, problem is all the people sending solos while it's down to their tracking links

    "after a recent spam blacklist, entire subnetwork from our provider - Hostgator has been blocked. We are working right now on unblocking."

    That's interesting... I noticed that a lot of my backend emails were getting ratings of 10 for spam, and when I queried Aweber they said that it was because I had safe-swaps.com in the emails in question.

    Sounds like some interesting stuff could be going on.

    I hope not though, I've got a lot of solos booked!

    Last night I tried to log in and my browser said it couldn't connect the same thing this morning. I think I'm done with this group I get a lot of opt ins but no sales. What good is the list if it doesn't convert?

    I would suggest that there are a ton of solos swapers that are spamming their lists and the complaints are rising fast. That is not to say that everyone there does that as I know that most people there very proud and protective of their lists.
    The sad part is that some people are treating solos like a bank machine and just hammering out the ads. At some point logic has to step in and say that enough spam complaints with the same name and someone has to do something. I could be way off but it makes sense to me.

    This is very bad. I have sent out solos for customers that have paid - and all their links are pointing to "account suspended" page - and of course the clicks will not be tracked. I bet Uncle Dimity will not be offering refunds.

      That's a fact there customer service is zero really.... that's what I have found... If they don't lose a heaps of customers then I'll be surprised?

      My experience with hostgator is they block the domain name, but still give you access to the files and database.

      Safeswaps will have to get a new hosting account and move all the data over. That could take 24-48 hours.

      I been using Safe Swaps for quite some time now.

      The biggest issue that I found is that when you do a swap with someone there they send 2-3 ads a day and can really piss off people who were on your list and since you recommended their free offer it comes down on you as well.

      There were numerous times I had my subscribers complaining that they signed up to the offer in my email and they are getting spammed to death.

      Best approach or at least what I started doing was when I do an ad swap with someone I ask them a few questions

      First off you want to match their offer with your list so

      Make sure you segment the offer to the right list

      2nd

      Always sign up to their list first to see how often they mail

      Send them a message as well and ask them how often they mail and what kind of emails they send. If its just promos don't even bother.

      But getting on their list will definitely help you scope out what kind of stuff they send and if they are building relationships with their list.

      Another thing to look for is see how many adswaps they do a month.

      If their doing one everyday or multiple ones a week, good sign to move on to someone else.

      I personally only do 2-3 a month.

      Do some research on the person your doing swaps with. I do this to check out the type of information their putting out there on the net and to see if they have followers who read their content.

      It can take a few hours a week to do this but its worth it.

      The problem is that there are so many list building courses out there teaching people to do swaps everyday and mail everyday that its killing trust in your own list by doing swaps with other people and this is another reason why solo ads have really lost its touch in the last 2 years.

        My two cents worth is site is down cause was hacked and somebody or lots complained and it was noticed and stopped and suspended till sorted... If people had solos or swaps they should be stopped from being sent out or in the case of the solo to go to either email of paypal transaction of buyer and email them for original link cause the SS mask the link until its loaded..As for up and running again could be hours could days.... no idea especially when it comes to domains and data etc... Could be a rebuild of site in another host.. and data restored assuming backup one would think...

This spam problem has been going on for ages but no fix offered URL not working cause of that listed as spam...... Someone gets pissed maybe a newbie who didn't get his guaranteed optins, cause forgot to read guidelines oops there isn't any?

      The spamhaus blacklisted them..... explains there why? I host gator followed suit... I guess now they need to convince whoever that all is well which maybe hard to do..... NOw they need to do something to prevent this happening again as this is pits... Just fail fail uhh whatever fail fail. Bang oopss sorry forgot to pull my finger outta my #@# damn!!

    It sounds like to many people on the receiving end of those emails made spam complaints, and since safe swap had their domains in the emails for click tracking, they got into trouble and perhaps even on a blacklist or 2.

      Jason that's what the site is a spam house....Cause people don't know the meaning of spam.... Seem to think its content or how it's sent... Its not, its if you DIDNT authorize to receive the mail... what happens is the persons signs up to a list forgets about them then all of a sudden receive an email from the list owner and its like whose this and not even bother to check did I signup to this persons list and just hit spam button nothing else boredom is the problem here...

    rickling - I agree, too many people cry "spam" when it isn't.. even here on WF. Too many people don't realize that labeling an email as spam in something like yahoo or gmail is not merely deleting it or putting it into the spam folder - it reports the sender to their provider as spamming. It doesn't matter if the person emails you 30 ads a day - if you opted in to receive those emails, it isn't spam no matter how annoying it is.

                    Yeah, it's bad business in general to sling mud, especially on a forum. So what i feel is censorship, is the admins avoiding a "flame fest" in their home. So I sent you a contact request on skype. If you feel like taking the information and warning other people that you care about, I leave that decision to you.

        That's exactly why I dumped them and went to liquidweb custom VPS.

        Hostgator cannot handle traffic.

        I also use Hostnine VPS as a backup in case I need to flick a switch.

        Hostgator maybe SH$# but they only followed what some spam site did put em on the blacklist.. from spamhaus.com they have been pretty slack in SS in regards to customer service really bad!!!

      I Don't like hostgator too. But the problem lies to safe-swaps too. If you have services, that people are losing money, when you are down, you must have a backup server to a deferent host... Dedicated servers can be found in very reasonable prices...

      This is a freaking bummer. I just wrote a post about it on my blog with my suggestions and a quick fix. You can go there but this is the gist of my post.

      If you already emailed your list with an ad swap or solo ads and that email has the SS tracking link, then that link is dead. It’s not going anywhere. I’m sorry. But there is a quick fix.

      So for those that already have solo ads and ad swaps running, I would suggest you contact your swap and/or solo ad partner and get their raw link.

      Not the Safe Swap tracking link which looks like this (http://track.safe-swaps.com/xxxx), but the actual link to whatever landing page it’s going to.

      Then Email your list with a message letting them know that the previous link is dead and no longer working and give them the new link.

      Here’s a swipe email copy you can use.
      Subject Line:

      Are your having trouble?

      Body:

      Just wanted to know if you’re having trouble with the
      last email I sent you…

      The link in the previous email is dead. Sorry about that,
      it was my screw up…

      Here’s the new one:

    I personally think that hostgator got a subnet of their ips blacklisted and took action against the site that caused it. Its possible that hostgator and safe swaps cannot meet an acceptable resolution. AKA Hostgator might want them to not host track.safe-swaps.com on their servers.

    You cant really blame host gator for covering their behind and protecting there ips. Now that safe-swaps is moving to a new host.....them ips are going to have to be cleaned up by hostgator before they can be assigned.

    Guys, if you've got a solo booked, then you've paid the provider directly, probably by Paypal.

    So you're not going to get a refund from SS for the solo ad because you didn't pay them (unless you're talking about your membership fees?)

    If you're worried that your solo ad is going to be linking to a dead page (and I certainly would be), then just write to the email that you sent the money to in Paypal, and ask them to change the link in the ad.

    It's in their interest to do it, as otherwise they are sending all of their subs to a dead page which makes them look silly as well, and greatly increases their risk of being flagged as spam.

    If you're worried about tracking, just use Linktrackr or something similar that tracks how many clicks you get, and where they are coming from.

    Also, if you don't already, this is the perfect reason to start tracking a) your schedule and b) your clicks, outside of SS or any other "hub".

      Of course we're talking about the membership fees, or at least I am. I am not even able to get to the site, much less get the service I was paying for.

        Good luck with that personal experience they have payment (safeswap) setup like its a goods and not like it should be which is a service. So when you do go for a refund paypal will side with you. But (big but) they want you to return the item before you get the money (paypal does) what item? So you call paypal to them learning it was a digital service which they do not cover for you nor the seller but they can not issue you a refund due to that all they do is send you to the fbi site for internet scam purchases...

          No, it's not. It's set up as a subscription, and if PayPal were to request return of an item, it's a 5 minute phone call (if I don't feel like waiting a day or two for them to read my email) and that would be fixed. The service is not covered, but it's also too small of a payment for them to care about. Worst case, I would be forced to make another 5 minute phone call to my credit card company but it wouldn't get that far, once you've spent 5 minutes on the phone with PayPal they've already lost more than the $20 to $30 you're calling about (in this case). The ONLY way you can spend more than 15 minutes on the phone with them and not get a small payment reversed is if you're rude or just stupid.

            First off i did call and i had paid for 6mos worth... and PayPal's exact words when i said there is nothing to send back its an online service they told me that they do not provide support for online services and would have to close out the claim and the refund that went into my favor would not be processed.

      Finally someone else been saying this from day one here, can't believe people are saying can't find who sent solo can't stop it and why not it scheduled in your AR isn't people hmm no matter how many solos you have scheduled in the next 1 to 2 days in SS if no contact from buyer after trying to email them stop the solo it's that simple... I guarantee you when they see no resolution they'll contact you about there solo for sure. Use here or the Skype group thru my user name here for contacting buyer if possible also they are a lot of user in SS group there...

    I honestly dont think Uncle D would have any issue sending you a refund if that is what you want. I have been with the site for over a year and it is not going anyplace anytime soon. So when its back up request a refund through support and im willing to bet that he will honor it.

      Bet yet again as i tried that prior to the site down because they are having other issues and hostgator isn't it....

      guess the response i got. their policy is a no return not even on any months you prepaid (what the classify when you make payment) for and do not use. You can cancel your account if you want to but no refund again will be given in any way.

      and i have that email saved from their support...

      when they do come back on all you that stay with them it is to your best knowledge and best thing you can do for yourself and your business is to read their little policy thing and see how everything is really working that maybe you don't realize.

Maybe there is a way to maybe get action of a lot of person dispute the SS payment and that would all be on hold for at least 3 weeks and that would be annoying for maybe SS to take some action...         Strange I have gotten a refund for a solo via paypal dispute which was ruled in my favor. That is considered digital goods I think. The solo was never sent, paypal ruled in my favor and refunded my money.

          Paypal will award the buyer their money back IF THE SELLER DOES NOT RESPOND via paypal dispute emails.

      THAT is good to hear, as it looks incredibly unprofessional the way it's been handled, so as a new customer of his I don't see any sign of the good-will you're talking about. I see a business that went belly up, a company that hasn't sent a single communication to it's customer base at large and the only official response was a REALLY unprofessional message (with profanity even!) posted on their defunct web page for 2 days. If this is the standard and accepted behavior of a major player in the IM industry, it's highly concerning.

    Hostgator is trash. I don't know why safe-swaps used it in the first place.

    I have over $1500 in solo ads going out, so this downtime is annoying. That said, I have been with safe-swaps for nearly a year now and its a great service.

      Sorry people, but we have a problem with our hosting provider - HostGator. They have tried to resolve their own issues by throwing all their problems at me. After several hours on the phone, they weren't able to say anything good.

      In my opinion HostGator is a piece of shit. I recommend to all who are using HostGator, to change to something more serious, like RackSpace, for example.

      My techs have already switched everything to a backup server, but propagation of these changes takes some time.

      Please stay tuned, everything will be back online shortly.

      This page will automatically disappear once DNS propagation has completed.

    Problems with Aweber before New year.. Now safe swaps down.. these are same problems like any business have.. Soon they will be back..

        I really hope this gets sorted , my payment to "Uncle Dimitri" comes out in a few days, maybe its time to stop the Paypal recurring Payment before it renews again!

        I'll contact any people that i have Solos with.

        I wasn't surprised either when I saw some of the mailings with a spam score of 10 in my AR, I had to double check to see and it was coming from the safe-swap link, when I tried, say with the Google shortning link, this worked fine!

        It's been now over 24hrs since I've first noticed and the site is still down.
        Not looking too good, my guess that it could take days!

    As some of you correctly said, you get a lot of spam complaints and we have to deal with it, because our tracking domain is in every email sent. But that's part of my business and I don't complain. All in all, your autoresponders are responsible for the spam emitted from their servers and they are seeding out the spammers really quick.

    The site will be live in a hour or so.

    It was my mistake not to have a second server with an exact site copy, which I can easily switch to. Lesson learned. I should have been warned by the recent AWeber's issue.

    Hostgator's people limited the site access because somebody sent spam with numerous redirects: link1-link2-link3-track.safe-swaps.com-link4

    It is a minor issue and we have to deal with similar issues every week. It is called spamvertisement, when some dumbass you don't even know about, spams their own subscribers with your link inside a message. We just remove the link from the site and everybody is happy.

    We followed the standard procedure, but hostgator decided to block us. By the way, nobody got blocked, but us. Link1-link4 sites are still active. The Server, which sent the actual spam messages is still active too. Looks like all of them chose smart ISPs and my fault was to get Hostgator.

    In any case, the site will be live soon on a serious host.

      Hmm just want to say if one complains that in my opinion is their right as a customer and should be respected there should be some compensation for this and its not good business sense if you don't, it doesn't whose at fault here either... I am certain if something isn't offered you will lose a heap of client guaranteed over this... All in all need to improve customer service but still happy with site otherwise would have left ages ago...

      Its now 1100/0300 Australia nearly so like 3hrs since was thought to be up... Whats the go there?? As I'm sure you would say being offline is lost money? Time is Money in a big way for alot of the client here....

    This safe-swaps attitude is totally unprofessional: "it's not my fault, it's them!!" - each time something happens with their site, you hear the same message - "not our fault".

    We are paying SS money monthly, and we DO NOT CARE who's fault that is. Of course, different things happen and we can all understand this, but if you're dealing with customers, YOU are the first one to be guilty for whatever bad happens, and YOU need to be sorry and not blame any HOstGator or whatever, and call them a piece of sh*t.

    A service like this should have a backup server with mirror copies of their database - it is a must! But they "learn" this only after ~3 years of doing business - great.

    Refunds? Forget.

    Suggestions for system improvement - they are "welcome", but if you are suggesting something they are not interested in doing, you will get a rude response saying something like "do not try to teach me".

    I would not be surprised if they do not have a copy of their database. Can't wait to see what's waiting for us when the site is up.

      hosting #3 = front end/members area

      backup the database in real time to hosting #2 and #3


      Each hosting should be on separate dedicated server and separate hosting companies.

They have a bunch of techies to do everything for them I think they knew but thought it'll be fine(this problem has been on going for over a year now).. is cheaper this way and we can still charge top dollar and make more... not.. anyway just my 2 cents worth hope it gets up and running soon but if not using other ways to buy and sell solos like here for example..

        Rick, you may want to walk around the block a few times and blow off some of that steam.

        Moving a website to a new host is no easy task.

    Down for me for the last couple of days... Cannot logged in or view the main page !! Yes Blame it on the Hosting Company... Why on earth would some people host their website on HG?? If I were Uncle Dimitry go get a hosting overseas so that we don't need to worry about .... all those restrictions in the US. May be he should have a back up site's ... ?

    Hi Reno & everyone in Warrior,

    Anyone can help me, a newbie newbie.
    After setup my Elite membership, following the instruction video in Step 2 to create Safe Swap Prime membership, I could not pay to subscribe because the payment screen does not contain my info and credit card details column.

    Even after Reno suggested me to register with a different email still it didn't work. I am still left struggling to complete my setup in AAX program.
    I am demoralised, no solutions since 15 July. I have paid domain & hosting (as required by AAX), GetResponse and now trying to pay subscription to Safe Swap.
    Can Warriors help me.

      What do you mean, you cannot pay? Click "Activate", choose between Paypal and Credit card. If you choose credit card, you will have to choose your country, check agree to the terms and hit "Activate" button. After you'll see the screen, where you should fill in your credit card details.

        Hi Adgaro,

        Thank you so much for your response to my problem.
        After I clicked ACTIVATE, I choose Credit Card, a box appeared I choose a Plan, my country and checked agreed then hit Activate. Instead of the screen you mentioned, where I should fill in my credit card details appeared, this screen show up with this message:

        "Your payment failed. Make sure that you have correct credit card information.
        Click here to try again or click here to try again from the beginning"


        My credit card account is OK. Other Transactions here are OK.

        This is technical, I don't know what goes wrong.

        I highly appreciate if you can help me to solve this problem

          As far as I know, Safe Swaps are using a payment processing company that has its own filters. The problem must be with your bank. Ask them why their transactions are declined by the processing company.

    Hi Safe Swap Support, warriors & members,

    Reno of Auto AffiliateX ask me to refer to you. He asked me to register with different emails. Well I reregistered with 3 different emails, did not work either. Could not activate Prime status.

    Please assist me to to go forward as it has been almost 2 weeks after sign up Auto Affiliate X.

    I thought its just matter of 6 smooth steps to start making money!

    Although AAX is FREE, I had to pay for GetResponse autoresponder, Domain & Hosting (which is NOT necessary). I thought of returning the Domain & Hosting for refund and GetResponse as well if this AAX software does not work.

    My credit card account is OK. Other Transactions here are OK.

    As the Safe Swap is part of AAX partner, can you please clarify why I cannot get the 2 pages/boxes for me to enter my personal details & credit card details after clicked Activate Prime Status & credit card buttons?

    Why the boxes are different from Reno video instructions? These are the reason why I am unable to make payment to subscribe Safe Swap.

    After clicked Credit card Pic 2 should appear to enter personal details, followed by another box to enter Credit Card details. Instead of another box without those details.

    Please solve these problems ASAP.
