I haven't actually used them so can't say if they need verification, but they do have a good plan. It includes cPanel and if I remember right it was just about $4 a month. They also do have a good reputation.

I remember many of web hosting providers not need ID verification..
Bluehost, Ipage, WebHostingpad ... (My experience)
Unless you live in high risk country or use suspected info.

I didn't need to verify at Host Gator ( I know) or Go Daddy (I don't think)

Why not spend a few hours and go get an ID? Will sure make life a lot easier for you. Just go do it.

If you are living in a high risk country, most likely the fraud verification system for a web hosting company will flag your order as high risk order. In such cases, is mostly the web hosting companies request for id verification to save themselves from online fraud. So I would suggest you to have your verification id done and keep it handy for such instances.

I host my sites with a number of webhosts including HostGator and I have never been asked to go through ID verification.

You can try some smaller host like Hawk Host; they usually don't ask for an ID.

rshosting is exactly on point. If you are in a high risk country, your billing address is far from your ordering location, free email, virtual credit card and many other factors. More than likely the order will be treated differently. Of course that's not always the case.

Most hosting companies such as ours approve orders manually also. So contact the host that rejected you and see if they will let you slide.

I do live in a high risk country, I think.
And the thing is, it's nearing election again so I'm staying away from government institutions for the time being.
Some people are being mislooked (hope this is a word?) to be a voter for an opponent politician even when they're not.
It gets worse if they do.
Politics, you know this.
