  I picked up these two links from recommendations in another thread:
  Creativelog will design a real high definition 3d book cover ecover bundles and courses cover or product packages just for $5, only on fiverr.com
  Jw12792 will design a professional and unique ebook cover or kindle cover for $5, only on fiverr.com
  
  Mid range:
  Dianne has some nice stuff in her site. She also does formatting, so you might get a package.

  As crazy as it seems, I've had some luck getting covers designed on fiverr.com
  
  Doesn't always turn out great, but for $5 its worth the risk. You can have 5 covers designed by 5 different people for $25 total ($5 each). One of them is bound to look decent!

If you use Fiverr, be VERY careful! Many Fiverr people are using illegal copyright images.

Another thing that's going on over at Fiverr is that someone will sell you a cover for $5 and then guess what...they sell someone else that SAME cover (or many other people) and it ends up being a very bad situation.

Thanks for all the feedback, I ended up using Diana Heuser from WF. I picked out images to use for the cover from a royalty free db so I feel comfortable.

you can get some cool premeds for around $30 - unique professional covers … your cover is probably the most important piece of the kindle puzzle. Here's some places to look:

  I've used this person for all my covers. Professional Kindle Cover on Fiverr by Pennyclad great covers for $5 and for an extra $5 will source a royalty free image for you which is great for automating the process of producing Kindle books. She also does great illustrations for children's books as well if you check her other gigs.

Believe it or not, if you take one of the top few people on Fiverr they actually do a decent job.

I ordered from a lady on Fiverr and it was well done. I did supply the stock photo, though.

That´s important... Many can do "good enough" covers with the right program and a good stock photo. But the price of the photo for the sizes involved is 4 bucks in the cheap places. So you have to provide it.

Now if you want compositions, or original art, that is a complete different ballgame...

Just go to skillshare.com and search for "kindle" or "kindle cover" - many designers share their knowledge in there so that any body can design it easily, professionally and even for free!

Is quite easily actually. You can find good graphic designers here at the "Warrior for hire" section or use the popular "Fiverr" I'm sure you'll find a few good ones to make your designs.

Has anyone tried Fiverr? I noticed there are some pretty interesting gigs there. They all display some nice covers but I am not sure I will receive the same quality work for just $5

Look up vikiana on Fiverr

Several of my clients have achieved BESTSELLER status due in no small part to vikiana's stellar designs

There are other designers that deliver FASTER but her work is definitely worth the wait

Keep in mind that she specialized in covers for NON-FICTION books

I can't recommend anyone for FICTION covers since I only have experience with Non-fiction books.
