I found it to be much cheaper than most other stock sites...

I got away with using $1 photos which were the right size for my site...

Istockphoto is great, but gets expensive for large images
BigStockPhoto is a little cheaper and less restrictive with its license
sxc.hu is free and has a fairly good selection

I got all the photos for my website from despositphotos.com
The quality of the images are great, but most of all it is a lot cheaper than other stock photo websites.

Is iStock Photo: Royalty Free Stock Photography, Vector Art Images, Music & Video Stock Footage | iStock considered a good one and a big one. Sometimes I like the idea of seeing who is paying a lot for advertising at the top of google it's likely a company that's doing it the right way and has a big amount.

I use http://depositphotos.com and have been for over a year

They are still one of the cheapest

I got sick of being raped by istock and paying an obscene amount for just 1 picture

istockphoto.com is the best in giving us high quality pictures. They're in this industry for a very long time. I believe they are the best when it comes to stock photos.

For free pics I like to use Icon Search Engine | Iconfinder (be sure to search by "commercial use, no link required")

And for paid pictures I use Stock Photos: Download Stock Photography And Royalty Free Images By Dreamstime (although they have some free ones also, I've never used any of them).

iStockphoto Stock Photos. For quality stock photos at low rates, this is a great place to shop and sell. If you simply need a picture to illustrate a Web page, pay just $1, or pay more for a larger image. Photographers can also sell stock photos and receive a cut.

iStockPhoto.com will help you a lot. There is a hige selection of photos you can use right away in this website. They are royalty free I think, which means you can use it with worrying about copyright infringements. You can even use Google advanced search to find photos that can be used for commercial purposes.
