$1500/mo, what would you spend it on to improve your IM?

Hello all,

I'm interested to know if you decided to invest and pay $1500 per month to get great exposure for your website and overall marketing it over the internet (targeted if possible):

1- What can I expect from such amount if I paid the right people/companies to get more exposure?
2- What would you spend it on? e.g SEO services, social marketing e.g paying to get your ads up on YT or facebook..etc
3- Anyone willing to share some good resources to spend your $ on?

Any help would be appreciated.

Well, I would hire the top affiliate manager, ppc expert and seo expert at Elance and Odesk that I can find. I would heed to the advice they would give me and follow their instructions.

However, let me tell you that in your particular case you are a newbie in this area. My experience is that newbies do not make a dime if they do not learn first what works and what does not work. Well, this arena is rather complicated and you need to learn from the WF what you have to do. There are a lot of technical terms and aspects that you need to master before making some bucks online.

That will of course depend on your site, what niche it's in, and what your desired goal is for each person that visits the site (sign up to your list, buy your product, click on your affiliate link, etc). Until we know those things, no one here can make any meaningful suggestions as to the best traffic generation strategies for your particular site.

For example, my traffic generation strategies for a site that promotes a CPA offer in the gaming niche are going to be a lot different than my traffic generation strategies for a site that promotes consulting services to small business owners.

I would get some articles written at textbroker.com. I would multi purpose the articles. Use them for a my blog, make some videos using them. I would then hit my properties with some good high PR backlinks. You don't need to spend all of you money to do that and I guarantee you will pull a profit.

I think getting a fan page with true organic fans friends of fans I mean is working out well for me because they are sharing so much for me and getting me so much traffic.

I don't mean the crappy fake ones from fiverr I mean friends of fans from facebook
I don't know that I'd invest all 1500 right away grow it.

I would first find someone genuine to coach and guide me so that I will be able to sustain in the long run.

It's always best to know your stuff even before outsource so you don't get scammed.

If you have to ask the question then I could see two ways
      to go:

      # 1: Get some training on some area that's likely to work
in your niche (eg SEO, pay per click, affiliate marketing etc etc)

      or

      # 2: Hire one person who really knows what he's doing...preferably
someone who already has a team of people he outsources to.

The best deal for you might be to pay $1,500 initially and after that
some kind of more modest monthly fee (say $250) plus a percentage
of the results the person brings in.

      Kindest regards,

$1500/mo can be used to hire few people for link building and also article writers. Because traffic which comes from Google is perpetual traffic in long term, so you can make money with affiliate programs and traffic which comes from Google.

Thanks a lot for the very helpful replies guys. The reason I didn't mention what I'm going to do is because I haven't decided yet and still researching. Here are a few more notes that hopefully will make my situation less vague:

    - I will definitely be doing some research on my own about what works in IM, but saving time is very important to me, which is why if possible I'd even pay to get on the right track quicker than doing stuff on my own and learn what works by countless of trials and errors.

    - So far I'm not thinking about promoting a specific product and aim for affiliation commission $, I'm more thinking of creating a website that will give people an interface to deal with each other, e.g something like eBay or oDesk, not exactly like those (auction or freelance), just something that functions similarly to those if that makes any sense lol.

    - Areas that I'm mostly interested in are Music, Video games and fitness.

  • Before you spend a dime, identify a problem or need. The more pain, the better. Find the audience that wants that problem solved and figure out a solution that they are willing to pay for. Then you will know how to spend the money.
