Managing your huge website ($250/month for 25-a-day,but is it worth it ?)

I am new to internet marketing but I am planning to launch a news portal. I am really confused about using images for a website.

How do news sites and huge portals get High Definition images from ?

I am really confused about shutterstock. They have a subscription plan :

$250/month with 25 images download per day. Even if I subscribe to that plan and download 750 images which I can use for the next couple of years, they specify that when I use their image with a post on my website(editorial use), I have to give credit to them. Then, what is the use of the subscription ? I don't see this (giving credits) with huge news portal and websites.

I am ready to shell out for HD images...so can someone help me out or am i missing something ?

Thanks!

You don't own the photos. They still own it. They are just giving you limited rights. They need a link so they can POLICE their property. They don't want people buying a license ONCE then building all sorts of sites with their stuff.

Lifetime use is hard to come by and very expensive. If you are looking for this route, you should hire a team of photographers yourself.

    Let's try some lateral thinking.

The average screen size today is what, 17"? Is it really necessary to have HD images?

I have three screens on my desk. The two biggest are probably 24" each. I use my own photographs (about a megabyte each) taken with a 6 mexapixel camera for my background screens and screen savers. Although the camera is hardly state-of-the-art, the results are extremely good.

With a little imagination, you should be able to take your own pictures. They may not be the ideal ones you had in mind, but they're likely to be unique. And that should make them and your content that much more interesting.

They all selling their image, in order to download the image, you need to paid certain fee.
But if you wish to own the image and get the copyright which no one using the same image with you then you need to paid even more to get the image so the image is own by you .
This is how those image selling site making money.
