Dog blog advice

I have a dog blog (Lifetime With Dogs) that I have been posting to daily about and would like advice on how to make it better. I have some questions and any advice would be helpful?

Should I give it a more web 2.0 look? If so how?

Should I start a email list? Aweber?

How can I improve it more?

How can I gain it more traffic?

    Hi Anna

    Well you've certainly got a lot of content there which is the one
    thing most people struggle with so congratulations for that.

    The theme is rather boring and you should definitely get a new
    one. There's loads to choose from so it's your call really. The
    best thing to do is look around the web and find sites you
    like and then run them by your friends, husband or significant
    other...whoever really. Just to get another perspective.

    Yes you should definitely have a sign up box...it's crucial
    if you want to actually make money.

    You obviously know your stuff so write a 5 day e-course
    on one particular problem that dog owners face and make
    that your incentive.

    As for traffic there's loads you could do so the best thing
    is to either read around the forum and see what suits.

    Facebook, Tubmlr, Social Bookmarking etc etc

    Good luck and you're well on your way so don't worry
    too much

      I want to change the template but I am not sure which ones would look good. I want one that has a nice look. I guess I gotta go around and look at some. Just so hard to decide.

      I keep wanting to add a email box but i just keep stopping myself with my doubts. I gotta stop doubting and just do it!

      I do a lot of spreading...facebook, twitter, pinterest, linked in, backlinking, it just doesnt seem to be doing the job...maybe i am rushing it...i have patience.

    I think your blog looks cool, vut It needs something to get the email address of your visitors and Aweber will help you out with this task. If you need more traffic you can buy a banner ad at BuySellAds, you just have to pay a one-time fee for a whole month of exposure. SENuke and UAW will help you get organic traffic as well.

    Yea, i was looking into aweber for awhile now. hostgator can create lists too but aweber seems much better.

    Add videos! Do Youtube training videos and link back to your blog!

    Can you give something away?

    Also, if you know a lot about dogs then Radio and TV stations are always looking for experts!!! I should know, I'm a radio host!

      Oh, radio host! That is awesome. I always wanted to start my own podcast or radio about dogs but havent gotten to it. Dont know where to start.

        You can give away an EBOOK or a FREE VIDEO. Something easily downloadable that adds value.

        I start with a 60 min. training video. That's how I entice people to give me their email addresses. Then, after they have received a really incredible gift for free, and the see the high quality information I offer, I sell them on a monthly subscription.
