Penalized Subdomain - Question

I have several subdomains on one of my domains and one of them was penalized by Google.

My question is: When Google penalizes one subdomain (e.g. website1.mydomain.com), does the penalization apply to all subdomains of this domain? (e.g. website2.mydomain.com)

    By telling google penalized my subdomain, what are you trying to emphasize here? Does it you are out of google completely? or your ranking went down a bit?

    Well, I DOUBT that google punishes sub domains because they are subdomains. HECK, in a very real sense, MOST were once "sub domains". Look at AMAZON! YOU think it is amazon.com, right? Look CLOSELY! Just now, I told the browser to go to amazon.com. It DIDN'T! It went to Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more still, it can go to sites like http://www2.amazon.com/ for load balancing. Now one could fail to point to itself or duplicate, or say to not index, but sub domains aren't automatically punished.

    To answer your other question, NO! Sites like wordpress.com would then be punished. Again, if they somehow punish YOU, all sites might be, and punishing the domain likely will affect all subdomains.

    It is still indexed in Google, but my rankings are gone.

      Sub-domains are treated completely different by Google. The other sub-domains and the root domain won't inherit the penalty.
