Sales Reps , what are the best places to find them ?

Hi everyone,

I've been working with people promoting my products and services for years now, but id like to find some trully kick ass sales reps for social media marketing and video services.

Not amateurs, but people who have track records and real skills and can get the job done without miss-representing the brand and appearing un professioanl.

Are there websites and resources online to help me find these "Super Tallented" sales reps? If so, what are they?

And once i find them, what is the best way to start the negociation process, should I just offer them a comission based on sales / a steady paycheck / or a combination of the two?

I would suggest on looking locally, as you can always hire a person and meet in person to see if he/she is really know to do. I believe online people can pretend more than they really do .

Finding a salesperson is like finding a client. Actually, some of the best salespeople are former clients. Tutu know your work, and some probably have mad sales skills.

This is true, its where i am receiving about 30% of new customers from. Due to the extra value offered in the services, many customers are happy to reffer me on their own as well sometimes.

Would any of them be interested in a more formal arrangement?

Yes, and I want to make a real affiliate system where they can have their own tracking IDs and URLs, etc... and receive comissions on autopilot. But im not selling a product, this is a service, and honestly I have no clue on how to get started on that. I could use some tips if you have any

Yes thanks man, but for everyone... right now I am living in greece! So on a local scale it is next to impossible to have too many clients pay for high ticket goods.

I've been here 1.4 years so far, and landed many cliens, most of which do not pay because they dont actually have the money, or I landed big brands as clients which I dont want to serve anymore due to many reasons.

But the small-mid sized companies in greece do not have the money, or the process of getting them is way too long and complicated so it is not what I'm looking for here.

I need sales reps for online, or international clients. I will try cregslist and maybe see if I can post some stuff for local sales reps but in other countries such as UK, US, Canada...

run classifieds ads and see how that goes, also for on-line reps why do you not have an affiliate system for your products / services. + if you want super talented reps your paycheck better be super as well, people at this top end play for money and keeps they will not work for pennies, so if your looking for the top performers, pay them well.

I actually do pay my affiliates $200 per video thatt they get me which is big bucks, considering everyone who has ever tried them says they are the best quality at the best price, so..

My problem with your suggestion is that I need an affiliate system, but I have never ran any sort of campaign which allows others to sell my services and get paid instantly as done online. Do you have any advice on how I can get that done? To be honest its all so totally new to me and kind of intimidating, dont wish to mess it up and have a hundred things go wrong.

When I said local papers, local radio and craigslist, I didn't mean that it has to be local to you...

For example, if I wanted to hire a salesperson in Orlando Florida, I might run an ad in the Orlando Sentinel which is the local newspaper there.

Also, there are jobs websites where you might be able to find sales people in various cities.

great man, thanks so much. I will get to that...

Its so nice having you all here on the forum and receiving all this free advice.

As far as the newspapper goes i will check into pricing on that sort of thing, if its cheap i will go for it, but for budget right now I am kind of tight on that.

As far as the job websites, do you have any suggestions other than Elance which might work well for that sort of thing?

You can post the job in classifieds sites and always go for commission. It is hard to manage a remote team and the best is to pay when they have brought results.

Think of it this way - you're a marketer, and your clients are now folks who will resell or private label your services.. put on your marketing hat, and figure out how to market to them

If you're new to hiring sales reps, one of the most difficult things is deciding how to pay them. Commission only, base plus commission, non-recoverable draw against commission, etc.

On one hand, you have a much easier time actually hiring reps if you pay some kind of base salary. On the other hand, paying a base salary will not increase your chances of success. In general, if you do pay a base it should be very minimal, otherwise the sales rep may hang back on their laurels.

Hiring commission only sales reps is one way to keep your costs down. If you choose this method, you could try Time To Hire Corp, who specializes in commission only sales reps.

You could bring in several sales reps and see who rises to the top. Multiple reps can be difficult to manage, but it's one way to get a better idea of who'll actually put in the prospecting and lead generation work.

      Good luck!
