Clickbank multiple account question

Good to know about that.

Actually it's a bit more complicated than that.

Each account does allow you to sell multiple products - but only gives you one marketplace listing (shown in 2 categories maximum, normally), and one hop link target URL.

Although the hop link target URL is usually the affiliate landing page (the page affiliates send traffic to), it doesn't have to be set up that way. You can also use a script (there are several on the market, including my own - http://www.marketingrocket - CBMultiLink) to offer your affiliates a choice of landing pages, even using a single ClickBank account.


Now putting aside the landing page issue for a moment, what are the advantages of 1 vs many clickbank accounts?

Advantages of 1 account:

- You can get a higher gravity since all your affiliate sales go through one account. Gravity doesn't really matter in itself, except it is a magnet that attracts affiliates, because affiliate often perceive (sometimes incorrectly) higher gravity as being easier to sell

- You can get paid sooner, since it's easier to meet thresholds, and customer distribution requirements if all your sales go through a single acciunt

- Less fees - if all your sales go through one account, less check issuing fees, less chance of dormant account fees (if you have lots of accounts, etc.)

- No setup fee for additional ClickBank account


Advantages of several accounts:

- More than 1 marketplace listings (because you only get 1 listing shown in 2 categories per account)



Now the landing page issue:

As I said, the default in ClickBank is the hoplink target URL is the affiliate landing page URL.

But as I said, with an appropriate script, it doesn't have to be that way. You can offer your affiliates a choice of landing pages, with just 1 account (or with multiple accounts).

Reasons why you might want to offer a choice of landing pages:

(i) Product-specific landing pages:

(ii) Audience-specific landing pages, e.g. Imagine you are selling a weight-loss product. You might make a version of +your sales pitch targeted at women, and one at men. You could then allow your affiliates to link to the page that they think will better match their customers.

(iii) Allowing linking to interior pages, directly to a downloadable file, etc. Imagine, for example, that you are selling software, or an ebook with a trial version. You might want to give your affiliates the option of linking to the main page of your site, the FAQ page, the download page, etc. Let the affliate choose.

Now if you use multiple ClickBank accounts (and limit each account to 1 product), as your "work round" for a single hoplink target URL limitation, you can do (i), but not (ii) and not (iii). Conversely if you use a script to manage your ClickBank landing pages, you can deal with all three scenarios (i), (ii), and (iii) regardless of whether you have 1 clickbank account or many.
