Started a new business, please help me focus my efforts

I've started a new business selling a service over Skype video. I've registered the domain and am in the process of creating the website. My goal is to sign up 50 customers by April. To reach my goal, what are the top 5 supporting projects I should be involved in e.g. YouTube marketing, blogging, SEO etc...

Thanks again for your help!

    Hi Terry,

It's good that you've taken action and have set yourself a specific goal. Well done!

YouTube will always be a good starting point.

But - if you could be more specific about your products and target market - we can probably be more definite about other traffic generating avenues you could explore.

    Warmest regards,

    Paul

If you want to stack the copywriting deck in your favor with tricks and hacks producing winners like: "$20K in three days" "650 sold" "30% conversion", then you might like to know I'm retiring and will spill the beans to two people. More info here.

      Hi Paul,

Thank you for the quick and encouraging response! I am committed to taking massive, focused action to reach my goal.

My target market is musicians. Because my service will be over Skype video, I assume marketing via YouTube would be a natural fit. My questions is, where is the low-hanging fruit in terms of driving qualified traffic to the website?

      Thanks for your help!

Easy: You go there where your potential clients are. Social marketing, forums, blogs etc. Make a FB page, look for connections, make a G+ page as well, check out sites, talk to webmasters for guest blogging etc.

There are many branches in the I'm tree but SEO, mobiel marketing, social media marketing, CPA and offline consulting are some of the things that seems more interesting to me. You can focus your time in anyone of then since these trends or branches of I'm are ever green.

    Terry,

You should start with finding if there is a market for your service.

Then you can find other people who offer the same service and see what they are doing so that you can possibly do it better.

    For advertising, you can use:

    PPC.
    Article marketing
    Video marketing
Create your own blog and put some content there on a daily basis.
    Forum marketing.

I've just run a Google search for 'forums for musicians' and been given 24 MILLION results.

Obviously, most of those will be useless, but then ... you have to kiss a few frogs before you find your prince.

Often forums get ignored in favor of more 'sexier' traffic methods, like FaceBook. But consider this: every single person on a forum is passionate about that particular subject. Whereas FaceBook or Twitter users are multi-faceted, so you have to drill down to find the folks you want to contact.

But, on a forum, everyone is a potential customer.

      Warmest regards,

      Paul
