Organic Blog Traffic After Panda

I have small personal blog. It isn't focused. It is my own ramblings. I talk about fictional writing, internet marketing, getting shape, and any other thing that fits my fancy. I have a steady small stream of traffic that hasn't changed much before or after panda. My traffic isn't list worthy. I had a list up for about a year and a half and recruited 7 people to it. My average unique visitors a day is 3. My bounce rate is 87% and the average person stays on my site for 30 seconds.

That doesn't matter to me. My site is for myself. What I am saying is that post and after panda my traffic has stayed the same. But it is small and probably not on any google radar.

That being said, I hear and read from the big guru marketers that after panda it is really hard to rank at the top. You can do it for a while, then you'll get pulled down. So a good strategy is to make a site, get to the top, get the traffic and list, then when it comes down, make another site.

This sounds fairly complex and time consuming.

My real question is: Is it possible to have a niche targeted blog that I post to frequently? Can it still rank on it's own? Has panda changed the blogesphere as much as the "big guys" say?

Thanks.

Hey guys, any input into this would be really helpful. I'm sure others have the same question as well. What is your experience?

It depends on your market/niche...... Panda has certainly done a number on many peoples sites, but you have to remember that most of the time those are pure marketing sites with the only intention of selling you something, getting adsense clicks, or capturing leads. These "guru's" sites are targeted around high earning keywords where there is a lot of competition, and yes SEO in that field is not as stable as it once was.

That's not to say SEO doesn't work anymore. Especially if your concerned more with a "personal" style blog. There's absolutely no reason why if following good original content creation and link building practices you cannot attain top organic search rankings and enjoy those rankings (and traffic) for a long long time.
