Which of these two have been more effective for you?

A) Posting in active forums with the link to your website at the signature?

Or

B) Posting in active forums while actively promoting your site link?
Example for B, making posts like: "I know a good affiliate marketing site that I use myself and it's blahblah.com, you should try it there it's free"

Didn't come across any threads with this kind of question when I searched for it. If there already is and I missed it please do share the thread link to me.

Posting in active forums works best for me... I promote three weight loss products. I love talking to women who are having problems with their weight/health. I have found that spending a few minutes just talking to them in general gets more clicks then having to keep mentioning my goodies. Sometimes I mention my story but not often. Also.. just to note my signature link is not directly to my products... it's to a tumblr blog that talks about all three products vaguely. It's much more user friendly this way I feel. Good luck promoting on forums!

    keep moving forward

Thank you! My site is a squeeze page for CPA/CPL and I'm thinking of doing this myself or getting help from some of other fiverr forum posters instead of buying fiverr traffic. Good luck with the sales!

Most forums will allow you to do that but if they find out that it is an affiliate link of yours, they will delete it right away.

the first option Is much more effective, since people are not stupid, they will realize that you are kinda promoting something in the second option. The first option is much more effective as far as I know.

I have a link to products I promote because if I'm spending time on here I might as well get some exposure, but I prefer just buying ad space because I can get 30,000 views in a day rather than spending hours posting to get maybe 100.

Thanks. If I may ask, how much do you spend per week on buying ad space? And what kind of sites, forums? Blogs? Or random? Anyway, I'm thinking of PPC but after reading about ad space, I think I'd go with it as well.

Thanks. Yeah, it becomes obvious for a lot of people now when someone's actively promoting something. I thought of that but what I really want to know is that forum signatures are a big thing. Glad I asked you.

B is just asking for a headache. Sure, it can work on some forums. But you'll find yourself constantly looking for new forums that allow it. Basically always playing cat and mouse with the moderators. Not worth it, IMO.

Definitely putting the link in the signature works best - most forums will delete the post if you're openly promoting an affiliate link that's yours....
Offer relevant, non-spammy comments so that people are drawn to your post!

This one's been good for me, in many of my niches. It's just like any other sort of posting/commenting/submission anywhere: as long as my posts add value, I seem to get targeted traffic from it.

I've never tried this. It would get my posts removed, and my membership too, in many places. (I certainly wouldn't stand for anyone doing that in my forum! Would you?).

Ha ha you're right about that. Better start listing forums related to my site where I can promote it through my signature link. I really miss seeing you here in the forum again by the way. Glad I was able to catch you up even for just a little while at this time. Thanks!

Option B is highly frowned upon and against TOS in most forums.... will get you banned in no time.

I dont think posting links in posts is the way to go. If you can add something of value to the conversation, and its worth reading then people will take a look within your signature, if you add nothing to the discussion, then neither will show much in return

Please do not use affiliate links in signatures

Oh right, yeah. Thanks for pointing that out. Yessir, it's part of my plan not to just participate in existing discussions but also provide useful tips and other information that would be interesting to those related forums.
