I am an aff for amazon. This is a numbers game. People will typically do product reviews. Most of those reviews are very positive and sound like an ad because they are created to get people to buy an item you are promoting via your web page. I suggest creating a video of you using the product and trying to create value by find new ways that the product can be of use. Simply regurgitating data that is already on the internet is not going to make you unique. All the best to you.

There are no two ways about it, Amazon rocks especially for the fact that it's a trusted name.

Here is a simple process to success with Amazon.

Step1: Simply pick a product with demand. I don't really give a damn about the price or worry about the 4% commission rate. From experience, people barely buy one item.

Step 2: Build a site with good product review. I don't use the amazon widget, i prefer to refer people to the affiliate links in my site. Sometimes, i get the "buy amazon" icon on my site and tie the affiliate link to it.

    Step 3: Send targeted traffic.

Step 4: Wait two months to receive your check.

Step 5: Rinse and repeat, build more site in different niches and rank them high. Sometimes i advice you build your list too.

Amazon is pretty much the only site I use anymore to promote retail products. There is a lot of money to be made with Amazon. My suggestion is to build an authority site around a niche you may be interested in and do real reviews of products. Don't simply slap up banners and widgets all over your site. People are looking for advice when it comes to buying products online and if you can write a compelling review and get a fair amount of targeted traffic, they will buy from your affiliate links.

I started with amazon a couple years ago and then they banned my state from being able to be an affiliate, so I stopped working on the sites. With only around 50 visits per day on my review site I got near $100 in the first month.

I have always liked Amazon. It's a trusted name. I agree about building an authority site. I will not buy from sites that are promoting Amazon, but don't do good or realistic reviews.

I think the biggest thing with Amazon is not to put all your eggs in one basket. Affiliates living in certain States were screwed when they could no longer do business with Amazon a few years ago.

I recommend promoting higher-priced items as Amazon, like many affiliate networks for physical products, don't pay a very high commission. You should also cross promote products in order to boost your affiliate commissions. For example, if you want to promote video games, you can cross promote related products the person might need like game systems and other accessories.

On the up side, conversion rates for Amazon stuff tend to be higher than normal since it's a trusted brand. Even though I'm a marketer, I'm also a big fan of Amazon as a buyer. I shop there all year around for all kinds of stuff. I love it and have never had a bad experience -- unlike with some similar sites which shall remain nameless.

I am an Amazon affiliate, and their program is quite successful. They have paid billions to their affiliates. You just need to send targeted traffic to their offers to start the journey with the right foot. SENuke and UAW will help you a lot to drive the traffic you are looking for.

Many of the most successful Amazon affiliates use multiple marketing channels such as email, social media, online/offline advertising, direct mail, telemarketing, and even direct (face to face) sales. Building a list of buyers can result in not only multiple sales, but also increases conversion rates for much higher end products.

Amazon is great - I just hate their 24 hour cookie but you can still generate revenue. The real hitch with amazon or any other way of making money online is how you generate the traffic to their site and what products to promote.

Tons of people click through to Amazon and by totally unrelated products to the niche they clicked through on.

So if you have a niche and can get traffic to it then Amazon is great.

24h cookie is not very ok for affiliate who are targeting more expensive products, but AMAZON really works very good if you know how to use their advantages.

I was skeptical because of their low commission, but the conversion is higher than any of the other programs I work with.

          Conclusion: TRY IT!

I love being an Amazon affiliate....I make a ton of money from them, though less since Panda and Penguin started wreaking havoc among some of my sites...

Amazon is great, but Google is a pain. As myob suggested you should explore other marketing channels instead of relying just on SEO or you'll have plenty of headache ahead.
